So last night, I spawn at the Alleyway on Sharqui. I see a red skull slap in the middle of the path through the hole in the fence that you must use to head towards the flag. I move nearer to see if it's a mine or C4.. and realise as I go boom that it's a frikkin' claymore.

It's the first time I've punished in several months - in fact, the first time on my |WrG|ThisGeek account.

What asswipe sets a claymore in a heavily travelled area right near where teamies are gonna spawn?

EDIT: I forgot. It's NOT the first time I punished on this account. The first time was on New Years Eve, when in a drunken stupour, I got my PGUP and PGDN keys confused and got XEye banned, LOL! :D

Hmmm - its actually also possible that it was laid when the flag was in enemy hands & you just happened to be the first poor sod going through ...

It's the same with laying mines well (ie. well hidden) - even if there is a nice little red skull that your teamie drives over, he is unable to realise that HE is the one who is an idiot for ignoring the mine icon that pops up on the hud & not looking for the mine... :D

- that's why I don't lay too many mines anymore - sad really as one loses that whole aspect of the game ... :)

Three times, on Fushe I got taken out in the middle of a flag capture by my own guys.

Well I finally found two morons in one game. Zatar Wetlands. I'm flying the plane on the US side. Not not good at it I admit BUT I can keep the thing in the air and dogfight reasonably well. My bombing sucks though and I cant figure out wether I'm Releasing the bombs early or late. Anyway I keep trying. Its a lunch time game. :P This is the time to have a light hearted game and try different stuff like flying. So I go for the plane, next thing is there is this idiot standing in front of the plane stopping me from taking off. Unfortunately for him my throttle control on the joystick is a little iffy, its mostly all on or all off. I end up riding over him, he PTK's, he's now on my list of wannabe knide victims. Anyhow it doesn't finish there. Unfortunately for him I dont crash the plane the rest of the round. :) I see him standing there waiting for the thing. (I know I didnt jump queue or anything cause he wasn't standing anywhere near the thing when I first ran up to it.)

Now comes the best part. Moron number two. Like I said my bombing needs help. I am coming in on the centre flag where the heli spawns, it is busy being capped by two APCs. I line them up and WHAM two kill assists AND unfortunately a teamkill. This is no ordinary teamkill it is also a |WrG| member. I am flying, but manage to press Q and say sorry. Twice. In spite of this said person PTKs me. Well I'll be. Pilgrim you are the very first person to make my @SSWIPE list. Congratulations. :mad:

EDIT: Taking the above post into account I can say it wasn't Doobi. :D I'm not into the name em and shame em thing. I fool I speak of knows who he is.

Problem is, if you end up getting killed at the same time, you can't do a quick apology.

Even if that had been me, I don't think that should have been a punish - fair game if there's enemies at the flag, k@k happens. I got miffed when I'm the ONLY person at the flag and the bomber doesn't bother to check the mini map :(

On the other hand, they may have just pressed the wrong key by accident. I've kicked commanders by accident as well . . ..

Its seldom that someone pisses me off enough to bother about making a post about it, but today, some $%^$#%$#$@#$@#$@#$@#$ punished me TWICE for teamkills.

Was playing the map where you have the refinery and the woodhouse, and there was an enemy amour convoy driving up the road to the refinery. Like a good little engineer I place two mines decently far enough apart to slow their progress. These mines were planted in the middle of the road on a flat strech.

Some idiot called zeeder jumps in the buggy next to the airfield, and drives straight into the first mine. One would think the big red skull and cross bones in PLAIN view would have warned him. So he punishes me for a teamkill. He spawns, waits for the buggy to spawn, hops in it, then decides to aim for my 2nd mine, and smack. I get another punishement!>?!?!?!!?


That wasnt the end of my punishment for the night, playing that map with the Hotel on it, and I am playing assult. The fighting is pretty heavy, Im busy dealing with two opponents, this idiot joins my squad, spawns on me (or in this case, directly in front of me, while I am in a bunker), recieves the full force of my machine gun (cause his now between me and my opponent, and I dont know wtf he is), and gets owned. Another punishment.

I must have forgiven at least 9 chaps tonight. Its idiots like that who punish willy nilly who seem to have no bloody idea what combat is about. Even in real warfare mistakes are often made. Thats what I love about playing on foreign servers, you never get stupid punishments. It seems to be mostly a South African thing, and the guys that tend to do it, are the guys that you would punch in real life anyways

First off w1z4rd you got my sympathies pilgrim. When stuff like that happens don't you just wish for some sort of add-on cheat that would allow you to always see the guy on your mini-map so that you could hunt him down and repeatedly kill him...with a knife preferably. I'd switch sides so that he would'nt even have the pleasure of punishing. Can you imagine the guy "WTF how does this dude keep finding me man?"

Secondly.I love this thread. Either you've gotta guess who the nimwit is OR where the offences happened. I dont recognise a woodhouse unless it was on a SF map. I don't know them that well so I'm lost there. Initially I thought that it could be the Reactor Towers and the Warehouse. That would make it Dalian Plant. On the other hand there is a refinery at Dragon Valley and a Woodyard so that would be my bet.

As for the map with the hotel, it could be Sharqi or Gulf of Oman both have hotels. The hotel at Sharqi doesnt have anything near it that could be described as a bunker. The hotel at Oman does have a sandbag hut close by that could be called a bunker. My guess is Oman.

So what do you do if the fool who just PTKd pitches up in your squad. After my rant the other day I went back into BF2 (this proves addiction) and the next thing nimwit 1 ( not the WrG one) pitches up in the squad. I did'nt pick up at first who it was, I was busy killing and being killed. I heard the new voice and decided to check it out, lo and behold there's the man chatting away like nothing happened. Twas a new map and by now sometime had passed so I decided not to say anything first off. Listening to the guy I could'nt help feeling that either I was delusional or he had multi-personality disorder cause he seemed nice enough. Before I could ask him about the thing my connection cut... :( bugger telskum ... I would have liked to have asked him about it... guess I farted around too long....

before i knew my way around bf2 i thought of that, thinking u got some insane amount of points for SAVING a guys life and not so many for killing him well if he doesnt punish and i tried it luckily on a single player mission so i was proved grossly wrong but only on a single player game.:D

I hate the idea of having to change my game play cause some idiot is color blind or something and cant see the big RED skull and cross bones. I swear if I get punished for a team kill for an AT mine again, Im ganna hunt that bugger down... and.... AND!!... stand in front of his gun so hopefully Ill get shot. I wish some medics would stop reviving people in the middle of a firefight. Last night on Karkand, I was revived like three times at the Factory and shot immediately afterwards. There is no point to that, except for giving the enemy some free kills.

I swear, during the BLG qualifiers, I spent a good 10 minutes trying to respawn as a different kit, but every time a died a different frikkin medic kept reviving me :p

Ah well - it's points every time he revives, so it's worth it to be a medic.

You die, start planning your next spawn, some dumbass revives you, you either don't notice or get whacked before you can see anything 'cuz the maps still up.

I never punish - friendly fire is what it is! - but some idiot the other day at Karkand did a number on me AND the team-mate he'd just TK'd that I was trying to revive. No excuse or apology either, and we were in a f*^%ing road so line of sight wasn't an issue! I agree with the re-spawn option, but us poor medics need points man, and LOTS of them! Hippocratic and BF2 oath, and all that....

Maybe, but it's just stupid when the opposition is running around in APC's and tanks, and instead of spawning AT and SO, to kill the bad guys, they spawn as medics to point farm on their teammates. Even noticed around end game when 50%+ of the team becomes medics?

I have enough trouble staying alive at the best of times! My K/D ratio sucks cos when I first put my toes in the troubled waters of BF2 I got spanked with a wet piece of salami, and started playing medic cos a) I was one in the bad ol' days of conscription; b) I liked the pretty red cross, it matched the blotches on my tunic and c) carrying a first-aid pack in my hand at ALL times kept me alive longer (I trip a lot, and my parachute NEVER opens).
It is tempting to use those defib paddles on those revive-stealing-sister-kissing-nun-defiling-sonsabitches, though....

I'm preferred the medic's kit form the beginning. Not cause I wanted points but simply cause I'd get shot so much that it was expedient to simply be able to fix meself rather than run around looking at the ground hoping to find a dropped pack. That usually finished me off anyway. Now of course its for the gun.
