Ok, couple of peeps have got this keyboard, very few realise it's potential. That little screen thingy does not just look pretty, it can be DAMM useful, provided the correct applets are loaded. I have put together a little list of applets I have loaded at the mo.
Finally all the new applets seem to be making use of the programmable buttons.
First off. Download the latest driver. They have added 2 new applets from the original. #1: A POP3 mail checker. Will query your mail account and check for new messages before downloading them. Tells you what is waiting on the server for you, you may even delete right off the server from the programmable buttons. #2: Stopwatch and countdown. Very handy.
Next up is the long awaited Battlefield 2 applet. This will give you server stats, squad config, score, rank, deaths, kills, kit, team kills, grenades left, and anything else. Also allows you to create your own screen. Again they may be cycled from the prgrammable buttons.
For the GW fellas. I found a Teamspeak applet that will tell you who is talking right on the LCD screen. Also allows you to mute the mic and the Teamspeak output from the programmable keys. Gives you channel information too.
Ever been in a game and need to take down some notes. Well the Notepad applet is just for that, turn the LCD into a little notepad that you can type directly on to.
Everyone needs a network monitor, so I included one of them too. Gives you up speed, down speed, bytes transfered, etc.
Also added a link to a RSS reader. Pops the latest posts on the screen. Perhaps Geek or someone could expose the shoutbox as an RSS feed, then we could get the latest shouts delivered directly to our keyboards?
AMD have also released an applet that does detailed reporting on the CPU itself. Voltages, freq's, etc... if you into that sort of thing.
Personally I turn off the auto applet cycling and switch manually.

Thanx slapster - I did get the BF2 applet and I am not sure that it is just so straight forward to install - machine was behaving a little weirdly but that could be other factors. Have you tried it?
Must try the auto cycle
How does the stopwatch work? (Too lazy too read stuff)

BF2 applet was very easy. I got it running full time on my PC with no impact.
Just let it do its install thing then hide the tray icon (no need for it really).
It is configurable. The BF2 applet has its own auto cycle in it, to cycle within the BF2 applet only. It has 4 info screens to cycle between.
The logitech drivers have a auto cycle in them, which flips between applets (emulating the button press) Problem is that often you are half way through reading something and it will change.
The timer applet has a timer on the left and the stopwatch on the right. Then the 2 of the programable buttons are for start/stop and reset, then the other 2 are for similar operations on the other timer.

Best is to get it from Rectron. R575 incl. Else go to Incredible Corruption and fork over about R750.

Is the G15 and the BF2 applet fully x64 compatible?
I have got no idea... I am going to say no. Might work in compatibility mode though. It is still BETA. So maybe write to the guys developing it.

Well i felt like reviving an ancient thread
Something bizarre happened on my G15 the other day...
I had my blueteeth usb dongle plugged into one of the usb ports on my G15. After i was finished transfering files from my phone i yanked out the bluetooth (without shuttin it down in windows i.e. "safely remove device..." cos well its not like i might loose data as i might on a USB Flash)
The whole keyboard shutdown! Lights n all
It was a total whole new usb rediscovery for windows, was working again 15sec later.
So yeah dont be removing arb devices from the usb ports without shutting them down properly :D
:thread revived:

So far, imho, the best app for the g15 i've managed to find is the SirReal panel.
On screen display atm shows CPU usage and mem usage, network speeds in and out, network history graphs and totals in/out, which speaker system is running and in which setup as well as volume, stop watch and one last panel for time zones which can be customised int he settings.
The genius behind it has made fraps and the BF2 applets part of it as well and whats more is if you get on TS in the speaker panel it shows you how many users in the room and who's chatting as they press their chat buttons.
[Edit]
Found the description the developer put on the site, will paste below.
Multipurpose plugin for the Logitech G15 keyboard. Small (74kb) and fast executable, doesn't require anything else except the TeamSpeak2 DLL (which is included). If you don't need TS2, you can delete TSRemote.DLL.
Features:
* Customizable display of weekday, date and time.
* Shows number of unread mails as icons (max 5) (if your mail client supports it)
* Displays CPU usage (supports up to four CPU's, both Intel and AMD).
* Shows the memory load.
* Shows inbound (top) and outbound (bottom) network traffic volume
* Shows network inbound/outbound network load over the last ten seconds, and/or total data sent and received.
* World clock with daylight savings support and user selectable time zones
* Speaker switcher, switch between speakers and headphones with a click
* Displays sound volume and speakers muted status
* Stopwatch with lap time (click to start/lap, long-click to reset/stop)
* TeamSpeak2 integration: Shows speakers, player count (channel with large font, server with small font), arriving and leaving players, mic mute status, self speaking status, channel changes. Click to mute/unmute mic. Long-click to show who's in the active channel.
* WinAMP integration: Shows new song name when song changes. Shows remaining play time and average bitrate. Click to re-display current song.
* Foobar2000: supports the WinAMP spam component.
* FRAPS integration: Shows the current FPS.
* SpeedFan integration: Shows user selectable values from SpeedFan (temperatures, fan speeds, voltages).
* iTunes integration: Shows new song name when song changes. Shows remaining play time and average bitrate. Click to re-display current song.
There's currently no installer; just extract the files anywhere you like and double-click the LCDSirReal.exe file to start the plugin. You'll want to review the contents of lcdsirreal.txt, the configuration file. Double-click it to open it in a text editor such as notepad.
Each of the G15 soft buttons corresponds to one 'slot' in the plugin where you can select which 'module' to show. You can have more than one module listed for a slot, and the first one to have anything to show will be used. You can force switch between modules using CTRL+softbutton.
Modules:
* CLK World clock with daylight savings time support and many time zones. Click to switch time zone.
* STW Stopwatch. Click to start/lap. Long-click to stop/reset.
* SPK Speaker switcher. Click to switch between two speaker settings, for example 5.1 and headphones.
* NET Net history. Shows the last few seconds network load (in or out) or the total amount of data passed. Click to change display mode.
* AMP WinAMP integration. Shows average bitrate and time remaining. Click to re-display current song title.
* TS2 TeamSpeak2 integration. Shows number of players on server (small font) and in the current channel (large font). Shows mic status (mute, idle, speaking). Shows current speakers, players entering and leaving the server and more. Click to mute/unmute mic. Long-click to show who's in the current channel.
* FPS FRAPS integration. Shows the current FPS, if it is nonzero. Note that FRAPS must be minimized or it won't provide FPS counts.
* FAN SpeedFan integration. Show selected value. Click to change value to display. Long-click to enable/disable auto-cycle of display.
* TUN iTunes integration. Shows average bitrate and time remaining. Click to re-display current song title.
Known problems:
* Some G15 keyboards are sensitive to ESD (electrostatic discharges). Should the LCD display go blank and the LCD buttons become unresponsive, try stopping LCDMon.exe, the Logitech LCD monitor application (you can use CTRL+mediastopbutton to do this). LCDSirReal will detect that it's no longer running and start it again. Remove peripherals connected to the keyboard's USB ports. Consider contacting Logitech for a replacement keyboard.
* The unread mail indicator (both in LCDSirReal and Logitech's bundled plugin) may show an incorrect number of unread mails. This is a problem with the mail client. Microsoft Outlook is known to be very buggy. Try Mozilla Thunderbird. Also, see this link.
* The TeamSpeak2 application can under stress break down with regard to it's IPC (interprocess communications) system. If this happens, LCDSirReal will show 'WAIT' in the TS2 slot. LCDSirReal will keep trying to reconnect indefinately. To fix it immediately, restart the TeamSpeak2 application.
* It should be noted that none of the above problems are caused by LCDSirReal; I'm just tired of answering questions regarding these issues in forums.
* It may or may not work with Windows XP 64-bits. I don't have access to a machine to test it on.
* It may or may not work on Windows 2000 and below. Note that the Logitech G15 software itself lists Windows XP as a requirement.
A really super applet. Downloadable from the applets page on the G15 applet site.

I agree Valdahur. The SirReal plugin is the only one I have running. I think it works great.
