and i hear that EA will be studying more MODs from the public to see which ones are worthy to re-sell for a profit. lol...

What's more, the update also notes that EA's first "MODLight" cycle will kick off soon - the plan is to review some of the community mods, reviewing and hosting them on worldwide servers so that they reach a wider audience.

I wonder what will be "broken" with this patch. :p

EDIT : A social so soon? The SGS servers wont be updated plus the FULL BF2 1.4 patch will be almost 600MB since their incremental patch causes more harm than good. :rolleyes:

Obviously if the SGS servers are not patched up then we won't be playing on the 1.4 patch.
If they are patched then we have to patch up - so - it's all up to SGS.

I've used incrementals all the way .. no problems :snigger:.

Community Update - 8/15/06

Greetings Everyone, As many of you are now aware we have made the choice to take some extra time with the 1.4 patch before release.

During our standard final processing of the 1.4 client update we came across an issue that, although it does not compromise stability, we felt needed to be addressed in order to meet our goal of improving the overall player experience with Battlefield 2.

It has come to our attention that a beta version of the 1.4 client has leaked to the general public. It should be noted by players that this file is not final and being such could cause damage to players systems.

We want to warn players to avoid the use of any client files that are not distributed by EA/DICE or one of our trusted partners. Once we have set a new schedule for release we will communicate this information to everyone.

As an update to progress with the delayed 1.4 patch, the patch has now passed initial re-testing but has yet to pass final approval before it is prepped for release. When this has happened the patch will be staged for release and we will let you all know. Once again we appologise for any frustration this delay is causing however it has occured to ensure the patch is as solid as possible.

Patch 1.5 beta 2 is called BF2142 . . .
