New Clan Match Server

Hey Guys,

I have set up a server that we can use in clan matches and also friendlies. Please can we get somethinhg going tomorrow or Sunday?

I need feedback from everyone regarding LAG or other issues as I would like to remedy any problems immediately by throwing more hardware at the problem.

I have full admin rights to the box. I would like to possibly involve other WarGeeks in the administration of the server if anyone is interested?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The setup is as follows:

IP: 196.38.180.105

NO PUNISHING OR KICKING FOR TK - (A special request from stoke)
NO VOTING
ALL THE CONQUEST MAPS
64 PLAYERS - (I might want to make this smaller - feedback?)
2 ROUNDS PER MAP
6 PLAYERS TO START
VOIP ENABLED
AUTOBALANCE IS OFF (Another request from stoke)
PUNKBUSTER ENABLED

Where are you connecting from?

The server is sitting on IS 100Mb backbone in Bryanston.

If there is any lag, it's not gonna be network related, that's for sure...

Look - got to go do chors and stuffs but let me know when you want to do the whole shooting thing

And I'd turn the TK thing on - you need to make sure that works.

I see there is no password - are you happy that all types log on?

About the 64 players.. If you are getting lag, the first thing I'd do is move it down to 48.. There is actually quite a significant difference between the two..

(Well that only really applies if the server is full, and if it never gets full... well... reduce it to 48 anyway ;))

Just a suggestion... Oh, and if possible I'lll try it a bit sometime... unfortunately, exams start in 2 days :cry:

Does anyone have any docs explaining how to configure PunkBuster?

I would like to set a maximum ping for players to avoid some lag issues, but I cannot find any manuals or anything...

Just bear in mind that the maximum players for Titan mode is 48.

Fine - and I am assuming that there is a point to it. i.e. we are doing a practice thingy for the game vs asf tomorrow. So can it be set up that way - ROE, maps, etc. And I'd suggest we keep it to ourselves. If we are having socials, then I'm not concerned who has access.

But it is IS/spacedd's server - they have ultimate call on it. I'm just happy to play.

@Spac3dd - it runs loverly with us on it. We just need to stress test it somewhat and try attract as many peeps as possible so we can fill it to the brim. ;)

It was nice to be able to fight in the titans without lag. Awesome!

Agree ! Was good fun !! That second titan round was excellent fun - SOOOOOO close, with XEye & Albereth attacking our titan & me trying desperately to hold them off. Did a reasonably good job until TG joined them too. I think we got your titan a few seconds before you guys would have blown ours ! Had been freshly slaughtered in the reactor room & was watching you guys pounding the core, when BOOM .... enemy titan destroyed ..

Last night you may have noticed an OgreZA on the clan server. That can like to be my bruvva.

It is something we need to be aware of - he 'followed' us because the buddy thing shows who is online and where.

I supposed we were also followed by a Lolia (?)

I have spoken to EA South Africa and they have asked me to send them a motivational email to get my server ranked.

I have done this and they have sent it on to EA US. Hopefully I will get some documentation soon.

EA has deemed us worthy of having a ranked server, so I will be getting the paper work now.

Now there is going to be a painful process of various legal departments going through the docs with a fine-tooth comb...

Hello if you guys are holding a clan match - what would the amount players be on each side??? - regarding each clan? eg. how many clanmembers may play for each clan?

This server is still up and running. Newsflash is that the IP the server is currently using is going to be used for a RANKED BF2142 server and the current server's IP is going to change.
