Frequent disconnects - any body else?

I am getting frequent disconnects - "your connection to the EA master server has been lost"

Or something to that effect. Is it just me or a common problem?:confused:

Would appreciate some help. I don't think it is my connection as the ping is always low +/- 30.

Firstly, having no firewall is A VERY BAD THING !!!!

However the firewall included in Win SP2 isn't very good. I have ZoneAlarm (it's free), and would seriously recommend that anyone who connects to the internet has a firewall.

The firewall on your router (ie. ADSL Modem) is normally configurable from a web-page front-end (see your router manual). It *seems* like it somehow interferes with the two-way traffic that is needed to keep a connection to the EA master server active.

That's the one I turned off & it made a big difference. For the love of Pete, just don't turn that one off, and the one on your PC off too !!!

That will be just asking for trouble !

[Edit: Hang onto your hats - I'm about to try and give you access. In case of server meltdown, sorry, it was me ! :D]

[Edit 2: Be very scared !! When the first line of instructions says: "Find the user in the admin control panel using whatever means necessary" & I don't have a clue what TG was talking about, it might well mean that User "Rateltaai" is an entity of the past ... hehehe ... ]
