They've done it so many times they don't have a leg to stand on . . . heh heh . .:p
Personally my telly is one of those 1080i only ones, so (not that there was much of a chance to begin with) now there's no chance of me getting a PS3!

but you will still be able to watch HD-DVD movies on your 50hz telly coz the recent X360 dashboard update has got that option builtin. ;)

I know, it threw me into a moral crisis of 360 vs Wii ;)
Is that HD 50Hz update for games as well?

Nope, the update is solely for the HD-DVD playback for most EU people in the same dilema of 50hz HDTV's.

lol... you do know that would cause a rift amongst game producers to suddenly change their games to run @ 25fps instead of 30fps at the most?

They wouldn't need to change a thing, they can use the same frame interleave post process technique they use to port movies.

I am not sure it would be that simple, but hey... it aint the first time the EU standards have been superseeded by US' own standards. ;)
