Ok.. so stool was blurbing and spitting and muttering in my face at about 2 am on Jan 1st on how i should create a thread naming the good and bad demo's to download to your xbox.

ok. so ones you want to avoid are
chromehounds (boring boring boring)
dead rising (pointless bash bash bash,1 gig of what?, boring)
sonic the hedgehog( bizzare , just flashy)
cars ( kids game by far,no depth)

and ones u want to actually play are

lost planet (online mutliplayer only.. so laggy.. but good)
dead or alive( about 6 characters, 3 fights, not the greatest but fun)
burnout( very short 1 race, limited mode)
graw singleplayer( gives good taste of game)
lego star wars( well maybe, you'll either like it or not)

i got some more.. but can't remember them, so i'll have to check when i get home

Mmm...good list and agree with most of it.

Played Doobiwans Burnout yesterday and getting it today :)
I have Lego SW and it is loads of fun!

hmm, Cars is for who it's for, my 2 year old loves it, if you need something for the kiddies wanting to play on daddies XBox, it's great.

And I agree about Lost Planet MP. It looks like fun, but it'll take time to get used to it, it's not as pick up and play as GoW.

My 2 cents :

If its your cup of tea :

Splinter Cell Double Agent SP demo ( if you are a Sam Fisher fan you will enjoy it )
FIFA07 ( EA's yearly sequel strikes again )

Will edit this post when i get online on the X360 later today... :)

I tried out Battlefield:Modern Combat last night, unfortunately the demo is Multi player only, but it seems like a really cool game. It doesn't feel like BF2 but cool none the less, I intend spending a bit more time with it, and I'll update again.

It's a pretty small demo, about 300Mb, so maybe we try get a game going?

I did try BF:MC way back, but never actually saw it for sale in SA.... weird?

Pity i have to download it again, but only if all the other peeps decide to join in. ;)

Darn, it looks like you're right, I don't see it listed anywhere :$

Although DVDCrave has it for R360.

before u all go get the MC demo... the servers you join are out of your control... so expect to play on an int server

Not really, lag was minimal/unnoticeable during my BF:MC demo testing since most of the X360 games have solid network code when compared to their PC counterparts. ;)

Yeah, I played for a bit on an int server last night on my unshaped account and it wasn't too bad, it was pretty empty though. the lag was good enough for me to get sniped :p

i fail to see how any kind of code can get around latency?

whatever you do will be 300ms + behind , it might not "appear" to have latency.. but it will have it

Can you choose a game or host a game??

sss

no hosting.... not too sure about what u can choose

Thats the whole point. In most X360 online games 300ms doesnt spoil the gameplay at all unlike in the PC counterparts where 300ms in BF2 for example is unplayable. ;)

EDIT : The demo doesnt allow you to host. You simply join a demo server or a regular server running the demo map. Not sure about the full game itself. Non-ranked games I presume can be hosted by anybody, but ranked matches can only be played on official EA servers.

I played Battlestation Midway for a few seconds this morning. It looks interesting and fun, and apparently you can host your own games, but the graphics are pretty bad.
