K, we will be playing tomorrow at about 8-9.
Put your name down with whatever time suites you.
No obligations or anything hectic. This will just be clan members/friends, just to get to know each other.

"Yes Yes, pick me pick me!!! 8 sounds great" <--- Thats my signup.

SlappY

Sold to the highest bidder... so far.. we start at 9

Noodle
9th January 2007, 06:47 PM
Sounds like a plan to me, I have a couple 48hour trials lying aound I can use for now :D

8 or 9 is good with me I be playing before that so when you log on let me know. I will add all to my friends list and make it easy to invite.

Also please all mentio what connection you have so the person with the best can host to minimise lag.

I have a 512 connection but a shaped account for now.

so whos hosting?

i tried to play gow and bf2 at the same time on 384 connection... not good!

Noodle
9th January 2007, 07:36 PM
Yeah that sounds bad.

All the guys must post there connections so we know who hosts.

So far seems like it's me on the 512 line?

SlappY
9th January 2007, 09:48 PM
I am only 384

RotoRouterZA
10th January 2007, 08:58 AM
Same, only on a 384 line, which is fine for 6 people, but any more then we need a 512 line.

Noodle
10th January 2007, 09:42 AM
Quick question?

We going to play against local guys only or we gonna go take on the international guys?

RotoRouterZA
10th January 2007, 10:20 AM
Local only. just a fun get together for now.

Ruslan74
10th January 2007, 10:24 AM
Yeah, i think in GoW you can host a player match with private slots and simply invite the folk you see online. Should keep the foreign players away.

Noodle
10th January 2007, 10:59 AM
Cool.

Useless - What connection you got going?

Ruslan74
10th January 2007, 11:20 AM
its just a pimpy 384... hosting for more than 4 people lags in any game.

10th January 2007, 12:02 PM
Cool, hopefully catch ya'll tonight, can't promise times but will make an effort to be there as close to 9 as possible.

SlappY
10th January 2007, 10:46 PM
Well after tonight, I vote doobi as our undisputed king of GoW. (well in our little bowel of fish :) )
GG guys, I had fun.
I WILL work on my nade tags.

Ruslan74
10th January 2007, 11:07 PM
Thanks for the games guys, it was great to play GoW multiplayer for a change. Off to download the new maps overnight. ;)

Noodle
10th January 2007, 11:12 PM
Yeah was really sweet the short amount i did manage to play

Just gotta try sort out that bloody Nat issue I have! :banghead: :boom:

Ruslan74
11th January 2007, 07:14 AM
I would like to make a suggestion in trying one day to play ranked matches, i know its a schlep since you cant issue an invite but narrowing down the game mode and round settings will allow for a quick browser find within the game's search engine.

Its just I am becoming an achievement whore thus my statement. :p

doobiwan
11th January 2007, 09:39 AM
Heh heh, I feel for you dude,

Unfortunately I have tremendous issues connecting to Gears ranked matches, I just can't seem to do it.

Noodle
11th January 2007, 09:40 AM

This is for my billion, it may be of some help.

Noodle

Tx doobi.

I have 2 actually.
Got a Linksys wireless router and a billion modem/router (running in bridge just for the modem side)

Last night I tried turning off the bloody things firewalls still no luck will give the thread a bash and see what happens, let ya know later today

edit/ Checked the site they don't have my model on there 5200s. has the linksys though.

doobiwan
11th January 2007, 10:38 AM
the admin interface for the billion modems are pretty much the same so the 9500 one should be sufficient, but if I'm not mistaken, it'll be the Linksys router that does the NAT, no you'd need to work on that one anyway.

Ruslan74
11th January 2007, 10:52 AM
@Doobi - does your router support PPPoE by any chance? if so have you tried using an account from webafrica to see how your NAT performs?

Noodle
11th January 2007, 10:55 AM
Hey doobi

I setup the linksys portforwading a while back with no luck even DMZ, the prob I reckon is the BIllion blocks the ports before it even gets to the linksys.

Useless - I have a webafrica account and use PPPoE.

Ruslan74
11th January 2007, 11:01 AM
Weird... i have the Marconi router and with Telkom's ISP i get MODERATE NAT... with PPPoE on an unshaped Webafrica account i get OPEN. And i never fiddled with any ports or DMZ stuff.

Eish.

RotoRouterZA
11th January 2007, 11:03 AM
Guys, sorry i was a bit late last night, my parents just wouldnt go to bed!

I had a blast though!!!!!!!

Oddly enough, i have the same Billion router as Doobi, and i have no issues.

Noodle
11th January 2007, 02:37 PM
No worries, I was there early but still could not play much. Gonna attack my routers now and try sort out my Natting.

doobiwan
11th January 2007, 04:22 PM
It's bizarre, I checked my network settings last night, and the 360 reckons my NAT is open on a shaped WA account, and I haven't configured a single thing! (NAT and UPnP are enabled though)

sigh, Maybe I'll get time to fiddle tonight.

doobiwan
12th January 2007, 02:05 AM
Okay, go figure.

I didn't fo much. I used my unshaped account (also didn't work before) but I enabled RIP v1 & v2.

I played 2 GoW ranked matches! :D

Bizarre . . . .

Ruslan74
12th January 2007, 08:35 AM
cool... so shall we do some ranked matches tonight if you guys dont mind? just let us know what the map settings are so we can browse for the server with ease. ;)

RotoRouterZA
12th January 2007, 09:12 AM
They have changed it now, you cant see who is hosting anymore...

Ruslan74
12th January 2007, 09:18 AM
the giveaway will be the host server's latency bar... if its green its local. ;)

Ruslan74

Noodle
12th January 2007, 10:28 AM
Dang, Sorry guys wont be able to join you tonight.

Gonna see the SO tonight :bounce:

Also I think the trial card expires round 5ish today :hmmm:

sss
12th January 2007, 10:36 AM
Noodle... i don't think you need a gold membership to play games with friends/ranked games and that, free(silver) should do you fine!

Ruslan74
12th January 2007, 10:45 AM
i still have some 48hr trial keys if you need them...

EDIT : I think you need Gold to play any game online, i stand to be corrected though and will confirm this now now.

Pay extra to play online... if that's not a rip-off, I dunno what is... :gno:

Well, over 10 million PC users paying for WoW are being ripped off too? There you are paying for a monthly sub for ONE game. Here you pay to play ANY game PLUS download anything you want from LIVE.

Besides, watch EA implement the same for their future PC games in the near future. They had plans to implement a subscription for Hellgate:London until an outcry from the press and public made them change their minds. ;)

rainy
12th January 2007, 11:06 AM
Well, Millions of PC users play UT, Quake, Battlefield etc. online, and they don't pay a Cent extra, apart from their online cost ;) And yes, I do think WoW is a bit of a rip-off :D But I can download whatever I want from half a million sources without paying extra as well :gyes:

Ruslan74
12th January 2007, 11:15 AM
Well, needless to say i prefer to pay a yearly sub for excellent service that is always available, has quick accessible downloads, game demos and other services without the need for download managers, firewalls, IE exploits, hackers, cheaters, etc.

Its kinda like paying for DSTV and getting premium service. Besides, it all comes to around R50 per month. Hardly something to complain about as you spend more in paying for people who look after your car within the same time period. ;)

rainy
12th January 2007, 11:42 AM
Erm, no I don't ;)

doobiwan
12th January 2007, 12:06 PM
Rainy, I'm also no fan of apying per month, but if you consider what you get in terms of online matchmaking, integrated VoIP across all games, managed servers it's comparable to paying for something like access to the Gamespy network.

Noodle

If the trial cards are NTSC then yes please! :D

doobiwan
12th January 2007, 03:25 PM
Just bite teh bullet and buy a months subs via Live Marketplace! From the UK it's only R70 a month, so the US must be about R50.

Ruslan74
12th January 2007, 04:24 PM
lol... if its NTSC then its even cheaper to get LIVE Gold in U$ dollars! ;)

Noodle
12th January 2007, 04:38 PM
Just not this month, even at that price :(
