“We have been working with Microsoft with respect to entertainment services. The Xbox 360 is part of the ongoing evaluations in respect of such services,” Telkom said.
And peeps thought it was just a conspiracy theory!

Heh heh,
No you won't, you'll need to buy an MS Home Server So you can stream the stuff to your PC as well ;)
. . . But I am very glad I got the 360 rather than the Wii at this stage. Wii can wait . . .

You don't need Vista to stream apparently the 360 will work with Media Player 11.

Guys, note it said nothing about IPTV. They could be talking about the basic live service.

Slaps, it is IPTV, Telkom's been trialling the MS platform for a while now in conjunction with Alcatel, just search MyADSL for an article.
There's also a "Telkom Employee" on the Xbox-360 forums whose apparently confirmed that this is the case and the it's working 100%.

TV over IP.
Stupidest idea ever in a country struggling to get 8MB bandwidth.
Airwaves are sooo much cheaper.
<or i'm missing the point?>
I simply cannot imagine wasting bandwidth on adverts.

Well then that is good news. Perhaps I should hold off on the DSTV for now.

Stoke, I doubt they'll charge "bandwidth" on IPTV, it'll be just like cable TV.
I do agree though, if they can do 8mbps for IPTV why the heck can't we get it for normal usage as well.
The advantages of IPTV for me are more things like video on demand which I guess are not really IPTV.
