The PAC (Pan Asian Coalition) has secretly moved into northern and central Europe, using abandoned urban areas to establish new strongholds. Intense close-quarters warfare awaits the EU forces when they mobilize troops for a full-force assault to claim back their land. The Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike™ Booster Pack brings all-out infantry-focused battles into new snow-covered battlegrounds across Europe.

Three new maps provide the setting for the Booster Pack. High up in the Alps the EU uses launch pods to launch an assault on a PAC Titan docking harbor on the map Port Bavaria. Bridge at Remagen, the scene for one of WWII’s major battles, is once again the setting for intense battles as both sides fight to secure the bridge. Finally, night has fallen when the EU launches their assault on the city in the Liberation of Leipzig..

Battlefield 2142: Infantry Storm offers an asymmetrical vehicle set-up with one new vehicle available to each army. The heavy IFV Goliath is a massive, slow-moving firing platform available to the EU, the attacking side, only. It is used to provide cover, as well as health and ammunition, to nearby infantrymen. The fast-moving hovering light IFV Speeder, available to the defending PAC only, is an efficient vehicle killer when staffed by a well coordinated pilot/gunner team.

With ten new unlocks, also available in the core game, and ten new awards, Battlefield 2142: Infantry Storm offers unprecedented persistence for a Booster Pack and makes the Battlefield 2142 experience deeper than ever before.

The epic Titan mode introduced in Battlefield 2142 is available on two maps, and for the first time in an urban setting. All maps also feature Conquest mode with a tweaked Conquest Assault set-up, in which the attacking army (the EU) now has to conquer all control points before taking the enemy’s main base. Welcome to the future of war!

Well, the BF2 boosters were fun while they lasted. Look what we have done with AF. It was just a bloody shame that most peeps were not willing to wait for a bit so that a game could start. I remember the hours I spent idling and mucking around on SF waiting for enough players to join...

BioGizzard

yeah those were some sad evenins, you feel like some SF, but the empty server just sits there, same thing with EF and AF, so i don't see any change for 2142. What boggles me is why the admins only had the booster maps in the map list. i still believe if they added the vanilla maps the booster pack servers would have been used more.

It's true, but then again you might just have pissed off the people who don't have one or all of the boosters if you mixed vanilla and booster maps. Remember if you don't have the booster pack and the server changes from vanilla map to booster map, you get kicked.

Well .. being kicked all the time would have forced more peeps to buy the expansio packs.
A heck of a lot of grumbling would have ensued .. but .. it would have died down eventually, and we'd all be getting the advantage of the booster packs.

I'm still quite okay with paying say R20 a month as a subscription fee to be given booster packs and stuff every 4th month or so.

I didn't have any issues paying for the booster packs. Just downloading them was a bitch ;) I really enjoyed EF while it lasted, AF was just something about the maps that put me off (except the Alaska map, that one was cool).

I'm starting to get a wee bit concerned about the potential for subliminal advertising in the Battlefield series.

We are all under EA's control.

im seriously doubt i will buy this booster for many reasons.
1. 2142 doesnt like my PC
2. 2142 is still far to buggy to be enjoyable
3. People generally dont like buy boosters so servers are going to be empty.

Will not buy a poorly made mod from EA

whats carp is that the new unlocked weapons can be used in the normal vanilla maps, so those that dont buy it will be disadvantaged :/

But of course they are. It was the same with BF2 and SF, if you had SF, you could use the SF unlocks in the vanilla game.

yup i remember that.
but when EF booster pack came out, we ALL got given the new weapons like the L9 and i think the P90.

Naaaaais, ek se!
I can just imagine podding horizontally across the map in to a bunch of peeps and scattering them like a bowling ball in to pins.

"You have been punished for a team kill"

I see one more reason why i will stop playing 2142, it has its ups but more downs to it. I payed too much money for a poorly made mod and will not buy any product made by ea. The quality sucks and they dont care. Why buy a booster pack, what for, so that i can have something to be able to stand up against the voss guns and the hackers, i think not.
BF2 FTW. BF2 might be a ea game but it has a lot less bullshit in it. And it feels more real. ( OH AND NO DAMM LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG)

yup i agree with waj. Only reason i been playing it is because i cant play BF2 :(
Titan mode is a good idea but far to buggy to be enjoyable.
