Anyone know where the Wii's are on sale??? Love to get one of those... even though I'm totally against consoles (std ones)... love the idea of the physical interaction... can picture my kids junping around the lounge swinging the remote ... hopefully not trying out for a spot on //www.wiidamage.com/

ok...found it on take2 ... R3K+ ... but selling for under 200$ in US....man that almost 300% increase ... do they think we're idiots in RSA?

Currently the Wii on take2.co.za and other SA sites are imports. Thus the high price. Expect the Wii to be out officialy in SA after March (PS3 launch) at a better price.

Yeah, unfortunately there's currently no "official" way to get a Wii in ZA. :( Quite a few peeps have imported them via friends, family or ebay, so that's an option.

What I find funny is that the WII is sposed to be the "cheap" console :D

In the "developed" nations yeah, but alas in our sunny SA most new tech isnt always wallet friendly. :p

I suppose patience is key, when the Gamecube came out i bought it at Game for a whooping R2499 only to see it come down to R999 8 months later. Ouch.

Well if the Wii comes out and the price drops I think I might pick one up for the kid. ATM she tries to play doom and gears on the XBOX, but her hands are still too small for the controller.

@Slappy - you could download trial versions of Pac Man, Lumines and other "simple" games for her. In terms of kiddies games I think you can find Cars, Open Season, Viva Piņata and a few others as more "appropriate" for her. ;)

As it stands we have no supplier for Nintendo in SA. Futronic has lost/stopped their license.

So if we will ever see is left open...... :confused:

Reason T2 is pricey is cause they import from the UK and not the US (as to get PAL versions of the console) I need to get this console though just for Zelda TP, I would get the cube version but then I could not fish. If you have played Zelda OOT you would understand :D

It be 5 yrs old now. But the size of the controller is the big problem. (pun)
