Sooooo how was Leonardo de Crappio in this movie hey my china. I thought his accent wasn't bad hey. Reminded me of okes I knew in Boksburg bru but they weren't from Rhodesia.
Heheh it was fun seeing some SA actors in a Hollywood film. I usually hate it when Amelikans do SA accents or SA guys do Amelikan. But this one was ok. I just don't know what the hell Leo was speaking when he spoke to that guy in the beginning at the airstrip. Sounded like some West Indies lingo. That was silly. They should have taught him Funigalo. Probably the only time I ever heard my mother swear was when she spoke Funigalo to the Malawian/Pondo/Swahili help. "This work is no good" (en a law shit, point at the no good stuff with finger). Lots of swear words in Funigalo it borrows them from all the colonia languages, Portuguese,English, Afrikaans,Pondo,Malawian etc etc

really sad story but was very well done. all tho i still cant stand leonardo much he has by far the best acting skill i've ever seen. never scared to pick up a new angle (like imitating a zimbabwe/south african accent)
definitely worth a look see but bewarned its and 2hrs and 20min long, you dont feel the time go by tho ( well i didn't).

I agree with Stool - definitely not a chick flick.
Not much of a Leo fan myself, but he gave that accent a good go. (needs work though)

You know what, i was never a Leo fan, partially because titanic was such a disappointment, and also because the girls swoon...
But to be fair, he was absolutely magnificent in Blood diamond, and some of his other recent projects, such as the departed - it was phenomenal! He has always been a brilliant actor - one of his first major roles was to portray a mentally handicapped young man, "Arnie" in "What's eating Gilbert Grape" and if you didn't know better, you'd think there was something seriously wrong with the boetie.
I am a HUGE DiCaprio fan, everything he touches turns to gold (even though i didn't like titanic, it was still a great success) he has made some wonderful choices in his career and I'm looking forward to his future work.
As for blood Diamond - wow! Magnificent indeed, not only the film itself but the EXTRAORDINARY journey they all took in the making of this film. And it is so well made that it feels like you're going through it WITH them.
As for your the Funagalo thing, when Danny Archer spoke to "Commander Zero" at the airstrip in the beginning, they speak in Krio, a Sierra Leone creole language based on a mixture of Nigerian and English languages. Danny also uses milder versions of this when speaking to other Sierra Leoneans, including when he first meets Vandy.

No kidding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Leone_Krio_language
I attached Krio to the West Indies because of Brad Pitts dialogue in Meeting Joe Black's with that old Ousie in the Hospital.

I also went
Unless, what Seņor meant was that he became a fan of Leo only AFTER Titanic?
Is that right Seņor? :p

Ja, that's what i meant, sorry.
I never liked him, until i actually stopped listening to the swooning and opened my eyes to the acting - he is superhuman!
Sorry for the confusion!

Finally got around to seeing this. What an awesome movie.
Had a severe lump in my throat a couple of times, and I jumped up and down and yelled "YES!" when Solomon beat the rebel commander to death with a spade! YEAH!
