All that I can say is OMG! This game is frikkin amazing. Which is odd cause usually I dont have time for the genre, and the game itself is relatively straight forward. But these guys went back to basics and have come up with a winner.
What you have is a GTA style game with advanced cell shading rendering (think of XIII on steroids). You are a super cop, and in true roll playing style you got several attributes, with a twist, they allow you to perform super jump, run at wikid sick speeds, kick cars off the road. The weapons have a target locking system which is great cause you dont have to fag around with too much aiming. Oh and you a good guy, not a bad guy. You collect hidden orbs to boost your attributes, do rooftop races, do vehicle stunts, do vehicle races, etc. And kill piles of bad dudes.
I has a co-op play mode, which makes the game really great and gives it the edge over GTA's pure single player.
Best of all it isnt even a AAA title, which is surprising cause I rate it over several AAA titles.
My advice, spend the R500 bucks and get it.
You can google it yourself cause I am lazy to link. :)

I saw a trailer for it either on nag or pc format... I was pretty much floored. Looks awesome.
There were a couple of others that looked very cool too. Wish I had me a 360. :(

What got me about it is it just feels so cool to play. You dont find that too often these days in a game. Most games you feel like a spectator, but this one is pretty emersive.

The one thing that looked very cool was the jumping from building to building... that's awesome. Reminds me of the dreams I sometimes have :)

But then I thought GRAW 2 comes out later this month.
Whatever shall I do?
I just figured it out, a friend of mine is gonna get GRAW 2 so I can lend his till I decide to get a copy.
Tomorrow, Crackdown shall be mine!
Muhahahahahaha! :p

SlappY

Other way around, you get an invite to the Halo 3 Beta with Crackdown. Which in my books counts for diddly foo, so I didnt even mention it.

@Noodle: Your agents starts off a little wussy, but I can come in and show you where some easy picking orbs are to level up quickish. I can also give you some cool weapons, like the homing rocket, and sniper rifle, etc.

Yip, have to agree this game really dragged me in unlike the GTA games in which I lost interest pretty quick. Now my only addiction is to find the damn orbs... :p

I have a blue orb map but it confuses you more at times coz it doesnt have the orb's elevation. Just a dot is at times worse! :p
Besides, got only 11 blue orbs to go now but I have taken a break from the game. Phew.

@Slappy - easiest way to max your driving skills is by doing the last Volk mission where you have to clear the rest of the gang after you take out their last leader/boss. Since they are by some town square getting cars aint hard and simply steal car, drive over 10-15 Volk, let them respawn, rinse & repeat.
If you have already done all the gangs in the city then you will have to do some Boss Trial sessions like Rafael Diaz from the Los Muertos as there are plenty of cars in his compound to drive people over. ;)

This is another question I need to ask. What happens when you take out all the gangs, I taken out the Spics and the Ruskies, but am too scared to finishe off the Chinks incase the game just ends and says thanks for playing, without letting me get all my achievements. Does it tick over and start again or what happens?

Not really. You still get access to the whole map and if you are worried about certain achievements you can easily use your maxed character to do the Boss Time Trials and get the necessary achievements there. ;)

On some boss maps they do, on others they simply come to the action hotspot from their locations on the map.
For beginners I would reccommend you max out your agility, strentgh & shooting skills to at least 4 stars before heading for the Volk & Shai-Gen areas. It will make things easier against the more serious opposition. ;)

I'm still trying to figure my way around... getting used to the controls is a bit of a beotch. :D
So far I've taken down 2 bosses, but I want to bounce around a bit and bulk up before I take on any more.

Console vs PC controls... takes a little while to get used to. You cant just jerk your head around to pull a 180 turn.
Also a good idea is to co-op with someone (someone you know else the just finish your missions for you :( ) and get some weapons n stuff. Also, take a trip to the beach, plenty of orbs there. Take a left after coming out of the Keep. next to the theme park.

New DLC info :
Realtime Worlds has been teasing us about Crackdown downloadable content for a couple of months now, but this week community liaison "Agent G" offered us a genuine glimpse of it - courtesy of a screen-capture posted on the official forums.
So that'd be what that is just over there, in case you're wondering.
As you can see, there are four buggies on-screen. Buggies we haven't seen before. And Agent G suggests that this new vehicle will be part of a new gametype, too.
The fact there are four buggies ties in quite neatly with what producer Phil Wilson told you a month ago in our Crackdown community Q&A: "One of the new (and in my humble opinion great fun) downloadable content game modes came from looking at a co-op video posted online, and credit will eventually be given to those folks that had the original idea." Could be, couldn't it?
The other thing we might be able to expect from downloadable content is more gamerpoints, with 100 still to be accounted for.
Indeed, Microsoft's rules for gamerpoints insist that each boxed game offer 1000 without levying an additional charge, so there's the definite possibility of free content, whether or not this is actually it.
Wilson dropped other hints about downloadable content too, so why not read the full interview while you warm up your Xbox 360 and dust down your Agent?
Oh, and Agent G says we can expect it "soon".

More info on on the upcoming DLC (http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1603/Crackdown/p1/) out :
Title Update Items:
Reset Gangs: In place of the current option to reset the city’s crime (unlocked by defeating all 21 bosses), the gangs can now be completely reset in the main campaign.
Easier Orb Hunting: Imagine how great it would be if when searching for the last remaining hidden agility orbs the audio range on each of them got wider as fewer remained; well imagine no longer. Audio ”ping” range is now gradually increased when searching for the last 50 percent of hidden orbs, and 20 percent of agility orbs.
Ground Strike: Available to a four star strength agent only, it is now possible to slam downwards while airborne by holding the attack button. The resulting strike is deadly to anything it hits, with an additional shockwave stunning nearby enemies.
Improved firing over low walls: Agents can now fire downwards at a greater angle while taking partial cover behind a low wall.
Targeting enhancements: Improved target lock prioritization of enemies behind vehicles as well as live enemies over corpses.
Those damn fire hydrants!: The fire hydrants were near indestructible but were also hard to spot. Now, though still best avoided, they can be smashed over for a far less unreasonable penalty.
Stunt Ring Visibility: Stunt Rings are now much easier to locate.
No “Lefty Flip” on vehicle control: Removal of the lefty flip on vehicle control so that left-handed players can aim with the left stick, but still steer with the right stick.
Persisting Charges & Mines: Limpet Charges (and the new Proximity Mines) will persist at all times within the game world and not just when within a certain range of the player.
Distant Explosions: No matter where the explosion(s), players will be able to see them provided they have a line of sight… it’s always a clear day in Pacific City!
Ramp Truck Issues: Some vehicles didn’t seem to get on well with the ramp truck, but we never intended this to be a SUV-only toy. Now none of them can get enough of it!
Camera Enhancements: Better camera for performing vehicle stunts or driving on near vertical surfaces (particularly with Top Level Agency SUV or new Peacekeeper Buggy). Also vertigo-inducing tweaks for those long leaps of faith.
Player to player precision shots: We’ve dropped the PvP lock-on but now another agent can be hit with a head or leg shot using normal targeting.
And a whole bunch more!
