You swear and cuss and curse.
Get up ... he gets up like nothing is wrong, but cannot shoot for like a second.

Set view distance to 100% on a 6600GT and switch to an AT rocket ... hello desktop ... hiyadoing ?
Not too bad though ... so far. I'm actually enjoying the foot soldiers extra power.

I have massive performance problems, in places where the game was playable pre-patch. Also, today alone I crashed back to desktop more often than in the last 2 months before 1.2.
I dunno... An optimal patch improves performance and stability, but I don't expect a patch to do the exact opposite...

I have a 6600GT. Also running view dist @ 100%. I have other settings on 1024 x 768 and everything set to full, with 4 x antialiasing.
I don't seem to have the same problem. Does it happen every time?

What I have noticed is when you parachute, and take you finger off the '9' key, your chute is gone, and you are in pain, if not dead when you land....
I don't remember this being a feature before. If your chute was open, it was open till you landed on solid ground. I died 3 times at Kubra dam, and couldn't understand what the Fox was happening.
:CORRECTION: I died MANY times at Kubra Dam, but 3 of those times was due to the chute thingy getting me....

It seems that you can't sprint as far as you could prior to 1.2.
It also appears that the problem with trying to shoot AA operators has not been fixed. If anything they seeem to have more protection. Ask Rainynight - I emptied half a magazine into him and he was still able to ping me with AA.
I had lock on an enemy jet with AA. I hit fire and the missle headed off to the enemy jet. A friendly jet came past and the missile changed track to follow the friendly. AA vs jets is still hit and miss. Miss your target and hit your teamies. Oh well. Better against choppers though.

Albereth, I struggled to get a shot at you. In the end, we both died at the same time...

I noticed that as well, a lot of kills, especially when in armour don't appear on screen.
This patch is rubbish. It's created way more problems than it solved.

P.S. I was trying : 1024*768 @ 85Hz - Med everything - 100% view dist and 0 antialiasing. What CPU are you on ?

I dunno if it's just me, but the jeeps seem to be a bit faster... I noticed it particularly on that long downhill from construction site to intake on Kubra. I actually ended up crashing slap bang in to XEye's tank (and killing myself) :p
Flags seem to capture a bit faster as well, especially if you're alone. It used to take a frikkin' age before.

Dear Fellow Clannies,
If you played with renaming the .exe file to get faster load times then your patch will not work. Stoke kindly helped out with this info. Unfortunately for me getting the updated .exe via Punky only worked for a short time. Three games in and my mouse would'nt funcion in BF2 even tho it worked fine elsewhere in WinXP.
I decided via dark and convoluted reasoning that the solution was to update the graphics drivers for my ATI x800. This made things worse because BF2 went back to doing the stuff it was doing before Stoke came to the rescue. Using more dark convoluted reasoning I decided to have a cup of coffee, this would inspire me to greater heights of inspiration. While sitting there sipping coffee I came to the wierd and wonderful conclusion that the problem was probably because I had loaded the graphics drivers after BF2, BF2 was not recognising the new graphics settings and was therefore heading back to Windows after giving me brief hope that I would actually be able to play. There is no scientific basis for this theory in fact the whole thing is based somewhere in the depths of my coffee mug. Granted the coffee was quite strong. The solution was to reinstall. I needed another cup of coffee and a visit to the loo to deposit the first cup.
Sometime later....
Some more time later....
Right I had
Backed up my profiles ect found in My Documents
Uninstalled BF2
Uninstalled BF2SF
regedited my registry to find any trace of BF2ness on my pc (This revealed an entry called 'My Company' Under which the patches had made entries... sloppy or what?
Installed BF2
Installed BF2SF
Patched using the full patch, which to my disgust I downloaded after using more coffee reasoning. I somehow decided that the incremental patch must be inferior in some way. It is, after all, smaller isn't it?
Now I am delighted to say that the whole thing is working a treat. I get into the game. I dont really have any more lag than usual, and I dont get the odd screen flicker I was getting previously when the game started up.
I think that they have played with the accuracy of my G36E. :(
/me pats G36E while tears well in his eyes.
Either that or its the coffee...
So far so unhappy.
Yours Truly

Thats kind of you...but to be really honest (and I'm ashamed to admit this) I didn't think of looking there for the answer before I reinstalled. Silly of me I know. :D
/me makes note to check 4000+ posts carefully before next install.
:p
EDIT: ...and I do not have issues. Nope no issues (except back copies of some (*)(*) mags maybe). MY Pc might but I'm fine...really... why are you looking at me like that? Huh? Huh? Huh?

don't listen to stoke !! eva !!! he'll ruin your mind and your innocence will be lost forever !Erm. Don't tell them all my secrets ... I really really want some left over to surprise me mom with one day.
And then there's the pink banana mode ... where all the little sultanas meet the grapes and go ... eek  !
P.S. Running on 1024*768 @ 85Hz all medium with 4x antialiasing and 100% view range and it's working purrfectly. Thanks NerdBoy ... seems one must try-try again.
