Battlefield 2 full reinstall procedure [Archive]

Backup your "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Screenshots" folder, as well as "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles" folder. - This is optional - if you don't mind setting things up from scratch.
Uninstall Battlefield 2 Special Forces if you have it.
Uninstall Battlefield 2.
Go to the folder where you installed Battlefield 2 (C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2" by default - delete the entire "Battlefield 2" folder.
Delete the "My Documents\Battlefield 2" folder (make sure you've backed up what you want first!)
Install Battlefield 2.
If you have the Special Forces expansion, install it.
Apply the FULL 1.4 patch.
If you have the Euro Force Booster Pack, install it.
If you have the Armored Fury Booster Pack, install it.
If you installed either of the booster packs, Re-apply the FULL 1.4 patch.
Restore your profile and screenshot backups to "My Documents\Battlefield 2"

I just want to say that it worked fine for me when instead of installing just the full 1.22patch i installed 1.1patch then 1.2incremental then 1.21 then 1.22 incremental or something like that.

Has anyone played round with the 1.3 patch & what the install proceedure will be with that ?? - want to get the full patch, but am not sure that I will be shooting myself in the foot.

It seems (generally) as if the proc is:
Install BF
Install SF
Patch to latest version
Install EF
Re-patch

.. any input from anyone who has done this recently ..?

The EF part bugs me ... when you install EA it must be installed on version 1.22 ?

I just tested the procedure and it works. You HAVE to re-apply the patch after installing EF.

@Spaced ... erm ... so ... at what point did you install EF ? After BF2 +SF is at 1.3 ? After BF2 is at 1.3 no SF ?

This is what I did:

Installed BF2
Installed SF
Installed patch 1.3 full
Installed EF
Installed patch 1.3 full
Installed AF
Went into BF2 as single player - rendered graphics, reticulated splines, whatever
Exited
Copied profile into profile place
Went into BF2 as multi player, joined game (favourites should be there) and tested mike.
Went to options and set up joy stick
All happiness
