I'm seriously considering picking up a premium (pro) system from makro tomorrow.
The only reason I'm getting it from them is that they seem to be the only local supplier that is giving away 2 games with the thing.
CNA's has no games, and it's the same price as the makro unit.
BT Games is 150 bucks cheaper, but again, no games.
My local Game has no stock, but they don't have any games with it either.
I'm gonna get an extra wireless controller, and maybe one (or two) of those play while you charge thingies.
Note - I'm only gonna be connecting it to my normal SDEF tv - which only has composite inputs (no svideo or component, not even scart, ugh).
My tv is right around the corner from my network switch, so I'll just run an extra cat5 cable for networking.
I don't really remember what the games were that came with the makro unit - I think the one was PGR, don't remember what the other one was.
I'm thinking about getting a copy of crackdown, GOW, mebbe viva pinata... any other recommendations?
Any recommended extras? Should I get the media remote?

YAY! Go TG.
If you are looking to accesorise then the remote is a good choice, then it becomes like one of them media thingies.
No one can certainly accuse you of doing thing half meassures. :)
And just thought of it. You might want to get a wireless keyboard. Helps for the messaging, etc.

My 6 year old son absolutely kicks my ass solid in table tennis. I don't understand it. :p
Considering I ran through the training and what not so I know all the smart moves... I gave him the second controller, showed him the stick and the buttons / right stick to play.. and he then proceeded to wipe me into the floor. And not close games either, we're talking 11/1, 11/2 etc. Very very sad. :p
Then I loaded up dead or alive 4. The first time both of us had seen the game. I figured out how to play a versus game, and he proceeded to stomp me into the ground the first 2 rounds. Eish.

Congratz on the awesome buy TG!! :woot:
Punky is trying to convince me that our 5 year old is in very desperate need of this type of contraption...and all I keep hearing is how it will benefit his hand-eye co-ords and his reflexes... and and and...Well... to be totally honest... I can only see Dads "co-ords" improving because its going to be a war of who'll get to play what... but just for argument sake...we'll say we bought it for the "kidz" :p
And dont worry TG... I used to whip my Dad all the time at Mario brothers... so either quit your day job and get the extra practise time in... or live with it :D
ENJOY IT!!! :woohoo:

:woot: congrats Tee Gee :)
I look forward to carving you into little mushy bits ;)
In terms of kids games, in addition to the aforementioned GHII there's also Dance Dance revolution coming out any day (out in the states) and Rayman raving rabids, which looks like a hoot and uses the Live cam for some gesture based minigames. And don't forget XBL Arcade! -
Alien Hominid
Worms
cloning clyde
Mutant Storm reloaded
Assault Heroes
Heavy weapon
Wik
TMNT
All come to mind as games that support co-op play, so you can play with the kids. There's also lots of non violent stuff on their as well, like Zuma, outpost Kaloki, Wik etc.

You might as well make use of your current CRT/LCD PC screen as well. You will need to get a VGA HD adapter for that though. ;)
