Something interisting on Nvidia's webpage
"Application Limitations
The following are known issues that need be solved by the application provider.
General Antialiasing Problem on Top Applications
We have found that some games running under Windows Vista enable 16x coverage sampling antialiasing (CSAA) when 4xAA is selected in the game menu, resulting in less performance on GeForce 8800 cards when comparing Windows Vista performance to Windows XP performance.
The problem occurs with NVIDIA Vista drivers 100.54 and later. The same effect will occur in future "Release 100" Windows XP drivers.
Affected applications found to date include:
* Battlefield 2
* Battlefield 2142
* Sin Episodes
* Half-Life 2
* Half-Life 2 Lost Coast
To set standard 4xAA in these applications, please set 4xAA in the game, and also enable “Enhance the application” antialiasing mode with a 4x antialiasing setting in the NVIDIA graphics driver control panel.

Yeah, also download the Nforce drivers for your card if needed. Especially if you have an AMD.
Also maybe post what speed line you have and maybe even modem name etc.

My theory is that when you're getting the connection problem message you're losing packets.. When you're losing packets, there is a problem on your connection.
1) If EVERYONE has the same problem - it's the server
2) If a few of you have the problem it might be area based?
3) If only you have the problem there's something wrong with YOUR line..
I had the same problem a little while ago with SERIOUS lag - where tanks drive through the ground and people fly up into the air and the message pops up. A few people had it (and at the same time), but not all, so we decided it must be Telkom maintenance or suchlike..

That used to happen quite alot in 2142 and also a few times in BF but usually just before a crash...

I think in this case it's something on that map and hardware in certain computers ... don't know what ?? if other geeks had this on this map , if they could post hardware . ie scr card , sound card CPU and chipset ... it might help figuring it out
PS .. When this happened , when the new map started .. all was fine , didn't change anything , I was sitting in the map shooting gas bombs :P

I know in SF certain maps cause lag for certain users...I'm not saying your problem is the same as mine but let me give my experience with this thing and you can make up your own mind.
I used to have an Nvidia 5200 256Mb graphics card and 512Mb of RAM....I used to experience a lot of lag generally but nothing was as bad as Iron Gator...that map was basically unplayable...I would often take up a comm position on that map and go hide away because I would be useless as soon as I went inside the ship. Then I changed to a 6800 128Mb Nvidia card and increased my RAM to 2Gb...now I hardly notice any problems at all....so the lag can be unrelated to the line and be a processing thing on the PC.

Problem is this there
It's odd , I narrowed it down , It's something to do with night maps !!! Very very frustrating ... I have no idea, the rest of the time all the maps rocks with no problem ... just night maps , I think / wonder if it's not something to do with VISTA !!!!

Could very well be.
Try deleting your cache and have the game re-generate.
My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\cache - Wipe the folders in there and it should be good to go.

2GB of RAM are no longer a luxury.
