So like prolly most know the new XBOX update (May 7th) is going to incorporate MSN into the XBOX, so you ask, how to enter text, you not expecting to use that crappy onscreen keyboard. So MS not to be outdone, done did this:

And here is a nice vid of the new update...excuse the dude, he seems to struggle with s-p-e-a-k-i-n-g slowly:

Looks pretty cool. Now we need an outlet for SA.

Nice, though no ETA for SA as yet but currently I am using my old Playstation 2 USB keyboard for great effect. Its only advantage over regular keyboards is its small print and 3m cable. :)
BTW, thanks for the game last night Slappy, got myself another full bar... two more to go for Master Sergeant. Sigh...

I was in the process of looking for a small wireless KB usb thingy for the XBOX. Currently using an old USB KB with 2 USB extention cables stuck together. :) This might solve that problem. But I wander when we can expect it, and I wouldnt mind reading a user review on it too.
@Rus: Master Sergeant!! whew!

Amidst all the price slashing that's been going on of late, it's easy to forget about the minutiae, but those still keeping an ear to the ground for word on the Xbox 360's QWERTY thumboard can finally rejoice. Microsoft's Chatpad (as it's officially dubbed) will be part of the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit, which will also include a separate Xbox 360 headset. The two-piece bundle will run users a modest $29.99, which isn't appalling, but it is a tad unfair that a standalone unit (apparently) won't be offered at a lower price point for those who wish to sidestep the headset. Nevertheless, interested parties can mark September 4th down as the date to remember.

I think the QWERTY device will be most suitable for MSN on the X360 as that still doesnt support VOIP or the Vision webcam. Like Stool said, its much easier to voice chat somebody in private, if you are going to spam people in groups then any USB keyboard will also do the trick! :)
Overall I think MS should bundle the QWERTY with future X360 units as part of the Pro package.

Jeesh are you people mad, or just not geek enough. It isnt about typing, it isnt about efficient communication. It is about a neat little gizmo to show your friends. It is about bragging rights. It is about sheer cool factor. Now who could put a price one that? I will def get one. ADDED: It is also about something else that the XBOX has that those PS3 asses will never have (unless you a crazy russian and have both)

Or, if you're like me, I hate talking to people :p I'd much rather be able to formulate my thoughts in a message before a send it.

Mine is also softer.
I gotta keep telling okes to speak louder!!!!
Not as bad as the headset jack on the wireless steering wheel though. With the wheel you plug in the headset and hear a hissing/buzzing sound !!! Sucks!!!!
It's not too bad though as i dont even remember to change gears with the wheel let alone remember to talk - so there isn't much conversation!
