I haven't been around for a while. Been having problems with DSL at home...

Do any other Geeks partake in the more real-world Battlefield of Paintball?

If so, who are you guys and how about we start a WrG Painball team?

I'm going paintballing (is that the correct term?) next weekend (the 9th June)...More accurately I am taking my son and some of his friends paintballing (again, that doesn't sound right) for his birthday. I am waaay to fat to do this as a regualr thing though but I would happily stand on the sidelines and cheer until I am equine..eeer...hoarse.

This reminds me of a precious thread regarding Airball...anyways, this place we are going to is based in Benoni and they claim to do Airball too....velly interesting.

I've got a Spyder MR-2 that I have modified a bit. Here's a pic of it unmodified. I'll post a pic of the mod tomorrow.

I think u can get better markers that the tippmanss...boblong,angel ect..but u know what...TIPPMANN A-5 and CUSTOM 98 FTW...add a flatline barrel and vortex feeder..and u ready to F#$% rawk :punk:

Yeah. I know you can get better markers (even ones that are sniper rifles or bazookas).. Tippman 98 was more in the spyder price range. Im keen for a WrG paintball league. Just not speedball. I played that in cape town against team chaos. I got painted about 20 times in about 3 min.

its funny tho...they say u get better accuracy and distance with the 14inch barrel than the 18inch..something to do with length vs gas propulsion.."sniper rifle" markers should be 14inch instead... scenario games rawk..speedball is not for me..i'm too tall to hide. my body parts always stick out somwhere :p

Sorry for that outburst, I need one of those every now and again.

I just upgraded my tippman a5 - got me a flatline adds like 100% accuracy (figures are exaggerated), and iv ordered a stock so it will finally look like the rifle i want it 2 b!

The team I was the victim of had those uber duber high powered markets that fire a real lot of paint balls at the same time. They have to reload their marker in about the time it takes me to shoot 10 paintballs. Its like running into a wall of paint :(

I have recently procured myself a paintball gun of my very own (It's no Tippman A5, but it should serve - does anyone know the Spyder Victor II?), and would gladly join in on any Geek-shooting practices you may initiate. May I enquire as to the whereabouts of a paintball supply store in the Bellville-Parow-Durbanville area? I require gas and a new O-ring for my CO2 canister, as well as information on how to turn down the output of my gun, as it is firing at 337, which I'm told is above the accepted firing speed.

I'll have to look it up, but, honestly, I'd gladly use a paintball gun that would knock someone's legs out from under them! Rule 1: There is no Overkill, there is only "Open Fire!" and "I need to reload"

In every range Iv played at 250 - 270 is acceptable, anything lower is just silly and anything higher is unecessary - i usually play at bout 260
