I have a collection of http://www.youtube.com videos that is quite impressive and boring. But .. when I want to share them with other peeps, they cannot view the videos and they don't like the format the videos are in.
Youtube videos are .flv files, and you need a "Flash Video" player to view them, which is inconvenient and you cannot resize the video and it's sucky.
Then ... to make matters worse, getting hold of Youtube video is tricky. I usually pause the video, wait for it to finish downloading entirely, and then scour the browsers temporary folder the video which i find by looking at the file creation date and size.
Enter : http://vixy.net/ ....
WOOOT!
Paste the yotube url in the box, choose mpeg4, and sit back and wait.
e.g. :
1 - Open www.youtube.com
2 - Click on categories
3 - Click on comedy
4 - RIGHT-Click on a suitable comedy link.
5 - Choose Properties.
6 - Chopy the link which looks like :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
7 - Open http://vixy.net
8 - Paste the link in the search box thingy.
9 - Choose MPEG4 from the drop down thingy.
10 - Click START.
11 - Watch as it shows a progress bar as vixy loads the video and converts it from flv to mpeg4. If it gets an error, just cancel and re-start it.
12 - Wap ... it presents a save-as dialog box for you to save the video to your hard disk with.
e.g.

Me is liking a lawt.
