I had quite a good laugh at this:
Predictions of the Year 2000
from The Ladies Home Journal of December 1900 (http://www.yorktownhistory.org/homepages/1900_predictions.htm)
There's one or two there not too far off from the truth tho...

No Mosquitoes nor Flies.
Peas as Large as Beets.
Strawberries as Large as Apples will be eaten ....
Roses will be as large as cabbage heads.
There will be No C, X or Q in our every-day alphabet.
..... yes, some are very close to what we have today.

When I was a kid we thought that by 2000 we would be driving flying cars.

Well, he was right about a few things:
1. Photographs will be telegraphed from any distance. If there be a battle in China a hundred years hence snapshots of its most striking events will be published in the newspapers an hour later. Even to-day photographs are being telegraphed over short distances. Photographs will reproduce all of Nature’s colors.
2. Telephones Around the World. Wireless telephone and telegraph circuits will span the world. A husband in the middle of the Atlantic will be able to converse with his wife sitting in her boudoir in Chicago.
3. Hot and Cold Air from Spigots. Hot or cold air will be turned on from spigots to regulate the temperature of a house as we now turn on hot or cold water from spigots to regulate the temperature of the bath.
and ALMOST there;
4. To England in Two Days. (Try between 1 and 15 hours, not matter where you are in the world.)
Pity some of these predictions didn't come true.

Care to venture a prediction for 2100 Smints?
I have a few:
1. In 2100, i will be dead.
2. in 2100, everyone who read this in 2007, probably is dead.
3. In 2100, people will prolly still spam with nonsense like this
4. But those spammers will also die... or at least pay taxes.

Yip, even with all the Caveman behaviour, I still get suckered into feeling sorry and making the pie, so here you are guys.... :cake:
I read an article once that I found that was for housewives in the 40's. It suggested things like "warm his slippers for when he gets home" "put on some make-up and freshen up so that after a long day at the office he has a lovely welcome at home" "don't bore him with your day, ask interesting questions about his work" :yikes:
I'll go as far as make some pie, but the rest is pushing it!
