Hey, we have some silly laws too. Maybe a bit of a crime spree too?

For instance it looks like it could be illegal to bathe on the East London beaches during daylight.

I didn't know Utah had great lakes? Just the Salt Lake, but its a bit far from the Great Lakes.

I know in York you can shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow at noon. But only if standing on the wall and he is in town center.

It is supposedly illegal to open a can of beer, or a cool drink unless in the presence of a certified engineer. Something to do with it being a pressure rated vessel.

It is also supposedly illegal to kiss a girl in a swimming pool in the Free State

I used to have a list of all these silly rules - lost it over the ages - pity. Would have like to try to break that swimming pool rule :)

LOL, Albi, I think you may be onto something with the beer can thing....where is Buka when you really need him? He would know. I'm sure the actual presence of the engineer wouldn't be necessary (otherwise Sasol wouldn't function at all). Perhaps you just need a properly authorised permit and the correct gas tests done and a standby.

And who would want to kiss a girl in a swimming pool in the freestate? Her mustache hair would be all wet and hang over her mouth.

The joke is, you've been to bloem smints, you see, the girls are pretty, and the guys are either fugly or gay, but rich, because they and their pa's are boere! So an oke like me would actually stand a chance there!

ya, I was messing about....Blinks you have caught me out. I have to shamefacedly admit that the Bloem chicks where certainly hot. That bar we went to last...Damn, if I was 10 years younger and single I would have owned that place...Ga5can was the best looking dude in there...I mean really! When we first arrived I was walking through the crowd and this hot number with a *really* tight top on rubbed herself all over my arm and wouldn't stop until I did some sort of jig to show her I would dance at some point...needed to walk away repeating "I'm a married spud, I'm a married spud".
