Cant seem to connect connect to any of the servers, I get:

You can't ping the SGS servers in general, their firewall seems to block it. Probably to avoid ICMP attacks from disgruntled players ;-)

Yup .. none of them SGS game servers return ICMP packets.

I kept getting thrown off the servers last night :( TG... it was luck i shot u.. pure luck... hehe.

But like 5 min after that, my connection to the server dropped (but I could still play on int. servers with no issues). I noticed about the 4th time I rejoined the servers (now like 2am), no one else was on the servers, and I had to wait for 8 more other people to join. Then everyone did, and we got into an infantry only fight.

You can ping www.saix.net. That should be close enough shouldn't it?

Not really. The webserver is on a completely different IP range than the game servers. So even if www.saix.net is reachable, doesn't mean the game servers are.
