Seeing that quite a few members dont like CoD2 (or are part of another clan :shy: )i was just wondering what other online titles could be thought of to use our clan prefixes?
Quake 4 comes to mind and what else?

Anything you like really. I'm using it in DOD:S, and my NFSMW player name is WrGTG :p
If there's enough member interest in a particular game, we can officially 'support' it.

/me challenges peeps to a game of:
- Starcraft ... [gonna have to use that lan SW - classic - ZERGLINGS Rule !]
- BZFlag ... [I'll host this stupid little fun game - good for a lunch skirmish www.bzflag.com]
- America's Armee ... [we can get involved in this one - it's free - get it from SGS]
Then - my personal STRAT favorite - Empire Earth [the first one - second one sucks] - Yea - anybody for a 9 hour game [Madness] ?
Currently - I'm trying to get to grips with BF2 and one day i'll play SF [When I can get it to work].
But - Empire Earth and BZFlag - I will completely ravage anybody that challenges me. Starcraft - well - it's fun, fast and furious.

I'm not very good at strategy games. One of the reasons why I suck at commander ;)
I don't see why we can't get involved with AA. Should be fun.

My only complaint with AA is the damn training.
Takes like a whole day before you can even think of playing online.

Yep like dont they have a section for mecenaries. Or maybe a tickbox Trained on BF1942: BFV: BF2. :D
I downloaded the game. Who would'nt? Its free! Then came the catch, there's always a catch when its free.
1. The training
2. The development of AA was supported / sponsored by the American Dept of Defense. Their old tactic "Uncle Sam needs you" wasnt appealing to the younger generation and they weren't getting the reuired intake level to maintain the correct balance cannon fodder vs no. of enemies. Somehow (probably someone in the CIA told them) they noticed the scores of lads playing CS. The DOD decided that they would also put a similar game on the market so that they could use it to select candidates for the Army. So they track your stats if you're good and if you exhibit the right reflexes under fire (other than the sphincter reflex) they will contact you.
Right.
Im not personally sure if I'm comfortable with that. Imagine that lot pitching up at your door. Sort of a men in black scene only the 1 guy is wearing an army uniform. " Son... Uncle Sam owns you... you thought the "game" was free... READ THE SMALL PRINT SONNY...NOTHINGS FREE!! IDIOT!!! ARMY MATERIAL!!! STOP SHOUTING ...WHY SOLDIER?? WE ALWAYS SHOUT AT CANNON FODDER IN THE ARMY...AND DONT TALK BACK ... WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO TALK SOLDIER!!!" Then the other guy in the suit with the dark glasses on pipes up, he's talking quietly, it kind of gets the hair on the back of neck up " Boy there's just one problem... you're not American" He reaches into his jacket... And as you lie there on your back looking up at the ceiling some passing thoughts go through your mind.
Where's the count down?
Where was my gun? I NEVER put my kit down!
Damn that was fast I didn't get his nick .... did anybody get his nick? Guys? VOIP's not working again!
Geewhiz I sure do miss that battlefield sky ..I should never have played this game!
I'm trying to shout "MEDIC" but I cant seem to breathe properly
Why was that guy wearing dark glasses? Its 2am !!!
I knew I should'nt have played that last game!
Next time my wife says come to be I'm listening so help me!
Ahh theres the count 2...1...black
(Hey whats going on ..... ##### game bugs...where's the reset button...its so damn dark here... what the #ell is going on .....oooohhhh Uh Oh)
......
So who wants to play? :D

Dude - you've convinced me.
Fine - I'll trudge through the training - waste an entire day on being ordered around by an American Accent - and then landmine my front door welcome mat for when THEY come a-calling !

i do DoW online at times... we could try a direct join/host option if you want. I am running version 1.41 of DoW and also have the expansion. Choose your pick.
I also have AA... but its a very unforgiving game... eish.. played it in a LAN once and couldnt shoot an arab 1 foot away... bad recoil... real bad.

I just bought DoW, was on special at Pick'n Pay. Don't have the expansion though, but managed to d/l the patch before year end.
In terms of strategy, I own and like Homeworld (any of them), the older C&Cs (Generals sucks), Starcraft, Warcraft 3...
Shooters.. I only have BF2 and UT2004 right now. Left a lot behind when I left Germany and moved here...
Edit: Got Age of Empires 3 now as well :D

Seems like DOD:S is owned by a few. I'd be willing to invest in the game if WrG was going to be there. It may be a stupid question but which of these suggested games support clannies? And are there local servers? DOD:S is hosted on SGS as is COD and AA.

Idea: we rather make a new thread, like the CV one, but just for what online games we play or want to play (ie, would spend money investing in if the clan goes there, as darnit mentioned). This is because there can be quite a few...
eg (this is not real):
PLAY-
FPS: BF2, FEAR
RTS: AoE3, C&C Red Alert 1 :)
RPG: WoW
Sport: None
Other: Homeworld (not sure what it's classified under :P)
WANT-
FPS: AA, CS:S, DOD:S
RTS: Act of War
RPG: Guildwars
Sport: EA sports XYZ 42.5 with new, never-before-seen (in more than 33 versions of this very game) online play.
Other: Soldat
oh, and sorry for sort of necroposting. I'm new and trying to read and respond to all of the topics that look important or interesting.
etc.

Banana, Homeworld is an RTS as well ;)
Just thinking of this, did anyone of you ever play C&C: Renegade?
Ruslan74

lol... i have it but never gave it a shot... i wonder if it will work with XP though?

Isn't Renegade it a vague failure? Whatever it is, Red Alert is far classier. Yes, I do mean RA1 ;P
Oh, sorry about homeworld, I've never played it :)
Ruslan74
16th January 2006, 10:09 AM
C&C:renegade was a FPS set in the RA universe and yes it was a flop as it was an EA milk the cow product.
i have never played homeworld in multiplayer, would like to give it a try though if i dig it up from my boxes of games plus the latest patch...
rainy
16th January 2006, 10:22 AM
Luckily the Homeworld patches are not very big. Homeworld 2 is more fun in MP though :)

i am keen to try it out, will have to seek out the patch and give it a bash, i am way rusty for it though since it been years since i played it... :p

rainy
16th January 2006, 12:38 PM
I'll have to install the game and latest patches as well.
For Homeworld 2 it's Version 1.1, 25MB. For Homeworld it's 1.05, 2MB, for Cataclysm it's 1.01, 2.5MB. Dont know which ones you have...
Ruslan74
16th January 2006, 01:07 PM
