View Full Version : WrG Guild Wars Guild

Ruslan74
9th March 2006, 07:40 AM
I will try to obtain info from forums in regards to a Guild for us WrG boys.

If anybody finds such info a post would be appreciated since i am on a silly dial-up from work.

My idea is to create one called War Geeks SA since i dont think it would be taken. I have the mola required and am also on the post-searing level.

Will advise tonight if all goes honky-dory about the creation but once its up & running your characters will notice an invite request.

Once created a cape will have to be created so anybody with l337 Photoshop skills can think of a WrG cape which will appear on all our GW characters.

Take a looksee here (http://support.plaync.com/cgi-bin/plaync.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2525) for some info on creating a guild.

Thanks RN65, a copy of the links content :

"In order to form a guild, you will need to pay the appropriate fee to a Guild Registrar character (such as the one standing near Sir Tydus in the post-Searing Ascalon City).

Once you form the guild, you will be considered the guild leader. As guild leader, you can add new members, promote or demote members and officers, create a guild cape design, and acquire a guild hall.

Guild capes and halls must be purchased separately, after you have formed your guild and acquired the proper finances/resources. Both require a set amount of gold; guild halls also require the acquisition of a celestial sigil before they can be purchased. Sigils may be acquired through PvP combat in the Tombs of the Primeval Kings, and may also sometimes be purchased from Sigil Traders or acquired via a player-to-player trade."

Will check it out tonight! :D

Ruslan74
10th March 2006, 07:56 AM
i think current Guild members can also issue invites, in the old days you had to be an officer within the Guild to do so.

So maybe i will check how to change members to have extra rights within the Guild so they can also issue invites. ;)

Yeah gotta beef up those coffers first or get branded as the poorest guild in Ascalon hehe.... A guild complete with custom hesian grain bag capes! Don't worry, before long it will be silk ;) I prefer the grain bags though - much more hardcore.

Have you guys decided on a logo for your guild?

Ruslan74
10th March 2006, 08:29 AM
i did post a thread for it but most WrG guys are still asleep... :p

it will be best when they crossover to Post-Sear and check it out themselves though.

but really what is post sear and or crossing over

Ruslan74
10th March 2006, 12:17 PM
Post searing - the world of Guild Wars after the great cataclysm at the hands of the Charr in the Great War

You start your new character in the fresh green lush world of GW before the war events ravaged the kingdom, and once you complete your training you are dumped into the reality of the post-war torn era.

that dramatizes it a bit. ;)

{lostmarble}
10th March 2006, 12:30 PM

Crossing over is jst taking the bus between these two times * one way ticket*

slappy, i think i tried to invite your character but it told me you were part of another existing guild. please find directions on how to quit your current guild so my invite can be effective.

Fivel found out the way so perhaps he can drop in some info on how to quit a guild.

Just click on "Leave Guild" next to your own character name in the guild list window. :)

Ruslan74

nice to see Slappy slapping Charr around... :p

what part of the game are you on? Yaks Bend as yet? or further?

SlappY
13th March 2006, 02:42 PM
Not too far. Just done the Surima (or whatever) mission. You guys want a tip. Find (or trade) a poo load or Iron Ingots. Take them to the crafter, get the best arour you can. I got 50 armour points for each part or my armour (helmet, boots, etc). Makes you pretty tough. I found a chap who parted with 20 ingots for 12g a piece, which was a score! Do this early on, (post searing) and you will see your level soar!!

Ruslan74
13th March 2006, 02:53 PM
i do have plenty of ingots... but have not really found any armor better than the one i currently use... i think my armor averages around the 40 mark taking into consideration i am a ranger...

SlappY

gus

Each class has its own armor levels, with warrior being highest:

Ruslan74
14th March 2006, 07:39 AM
nice... maybe we should meetup with other fellow WrG members at Yaks Bend or Borlis Pass to team up on the next quests... what do you say about that? seeing quite a few players have leveled up quickly....

SlappY
14th March 2006, 07:56 AM
Sounds like a plan. I heard a lot of people going on about Yaks bend, is it a mission or a Quest. Oh, and just not tonight. If I dont hit the sack early I am going to be sleeping on my desk at work...and my boss doesnt like it when I do that

Ruslan74
14th March 2006, 08:39 AM
i already did Yaks Bend mission and currently am on Frost Gate's mission, but it would be nice to party along with fellow Guild members. ;)

I'm lvl 10.8 Warrior/Monk

Ruslan74
14th March 2006, 09:15 AM
i have an unidentified purple Scimitar with a base dmg of 7-12 me thinks, could hold some nice skills if a warrior identifies it.

If I find another "BBQ" sword, I shall keep it for you. I can unfortunately not make any promises, due to the random drops. I gave away two of them in the past week.

Edit: I do have a 15-22 damage require 8 swordsmanship vampire 2/-1 fiery sword if you want that. It does not look as fancy as the BBQ sword (Fiery dragon sword), but is actually a much better sword.

GKM, that would be awesome, I dont mind the looks, hell it can look like a wet fish so long as it deals damage, currently I have the err, something or other sword of Charr Slaying, base dmg of 10-14 and a +10 (I think) Vs. Charr

I would have to juggle my skills around to get the Swordsmanship 8 though.

^^a little trick I think ROCKS, the ability to go from McHammermeister to Swashbuckling sword person.:D

I bought my sword from a bloke. Got it and an Skeleton Shield for 600 bucks. Took some serious guilt tripping to get him to agree though. (I found guilt works REALLY well. Get some good deals that way). There are different types of the sword though, mine has some special features on it. You can buy the basic one though from the merchants.

Wow, I think I should start selling stuff. Nahhh, I am not that patient. The basic weapons from the weapon crafters in town are all crap in my opinion. I always use weapons I get from collectors or green weapons if I can afford them or in rare cases something I have picked up.

Lost Marble, I have placed you on my fiends list in GW, so next time I see you online, I shall pop over and give you the sword. Req 8 is about as low as one would ever get on a max damage weapon. The sword is probably worth a fair bit of gold because of the low requirement. Otherwise just keep it until you have another level or two.

@sss: I would be very surprised if you find a name available from any well known movie, TV series or comic book.

Hammers have a higher damage range, but they are slower, so it evens out a fair bit, kind of like a DOA vs a SCAR-L. Another benefit of a sword is that you can use a shield with it to increase your armor level.

That BBQ sword I found yesterday and gave to you has a very bad mod on it. Armor is very important to warriors, so the -10 AL while attacking is not good at all. Normally I would sell a sword like that to the merchant without a second thought. I just kept it because I knew you wanted one. I would say you should only wield it while you are not fighting and maybe switch to the vampire sword while fighting. Have each one in a weapon slot, then you can press F1 and F2 to switch between them.
