So, there I was procrastinating as usual (on Wikipedia this time) when I see the news... a film adaption of The Mist is being planned!
For those of you who don't know, The Mist is a novella written by Stephen King about a man and his son trapped in a supermarket together with some other people when a mysterious mist covers their town... does the mist have anything to do with the nearby military base...? It's an awesome little story, only about a 130 pages or so, but really gripping stuff and definitely one of my fav Stephen King shorts!
The movie site states the release date as 21 Nov 2007, so it's one of these days, there's a trailer up as well. Main dudeguy is played by Thomas Jane of Punisher/Stander fame.
Writing and directing is by Frank Darabont, who did the writing/directing of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, two well known and well liked Stephen King film adaptions, so hopefully he can keep up the good work!
