Yeah it does remind me of cs. What makes it soo much better though is the fact you dont have to wait for all the peeps to be dead before you can respawn again.

The way they work the ranking system really makes the game fun in MP as well :sharp:

Oi.... where did you buy the game? Some places are known to sell opened copies of PC games coz they steal the CD-keys. Lucky me and others have gone over this stage with the consoles we play on.

Iv got it, but I havnt tried it multiplayer - a few of my friends have though and they say its a lot like counter-strike but without the annoying waiting for a new round to start thing, theres instant respawn like all the other COD's

It's a flippen awesome game! I finished mine 7hrs after it arrived by courier. A little on the short side, but man... that was undoubtedly the best 7hrs of my gaming life. (except for that time i C4'd all the WrG's to get my explosives badge :p )

The mission "Death from Above" was probably one of the most original ideas i've ever come across in a game and couldn't have been done better if they tried. The C-130 spectra with the 25mm,40mm and 105mm rounds were really awesome to use in conjunction with the tv-cam type overlay ... but the commentry from the crew that went along with it probably made it that much more authentic.

The Chernobyl sniper stage was also the best sniping i've ever played to date. The guilley suits were insanely well done ... and the barret stage was also something awesome.

The storyline was also well set out... was rather like watching a movie. Just a question ... does anyone know what happens when you find all 30 intel (and amd :p) laptops ? I only found 15 or so :(

I think if COD MP is very counter strike / unreal 2k4 player oriented, and is a nice past paced difference. The type of upgrades and things are also really cool. I was surprised when i picked up some dude's support SAW with a laser reflex scope on it. Really cool :)

The only thing BF2 has over it in MP is the use of vehicles and squads... otherwise this game has raised the proverbial bar very high!

As for the engine, the last time i saw an awesome engine like that running THAT smoothly on medium spec pc's was when UT2k4 came out. Not a single moment of lag or anything. And i'm only running an AMD 3000+ with 1gb ddr400.

I have not been this impressed in a LONG time.

Just wish the darned game would keep my Favourite servers where they should be! They keep disappearing!:mad: The UGSA servers are pretty cool, to be honest. SGS have added a tactical server which, along with the Hardcore servers, make this game what it should be. No HUD means you play more cautiously without losing any of the fun. Those urban maps are just jaw-droppingly beautiful! :bow:

Man this game is unbelievable sometimes.. The sniper mission was the most hectic thing EVER!
Hiding from the troops patrolling near Pripyat had me nipping straws!

I had to start again 'cause the Harddrive that failed on me had COD4 installed on it, and apparently the savegames are stored in that folder? Not a big crisis, I've enjoyed it both times I've played..

It was the most intense mission ever! dodging around the troops was hectic, and the depth of field blurring really makes it quite realistic..

I'm using Xfire to connect to all the servers, it is much easier.
Check on http:\\games.saix.net there will be a list of the SGS servers

I just made my clan tag part of my username, works fine. As for the servers... They had a habit of disappearing in COD2, not much has changed in COD4. If they don't appear, add them as a Fav again and they should all magically reappear. Note, I say "should". Try the UGSA server too, though.

Ok, officially the coolest game I've ever played (well still busy playing)!!!!

And man I've just got through the AC 130 gunner stage, and it’s just wicked without words. From what I've seen in documentaries and read it’s just so scarily realistic, it’s like actually glorifying war or something, dang.

When I've finished the single player I'm going to hit the MP servers till my fingers cant anymore.

This game just must be pursued further by the clan as a whole!!!

The Game is awesome fun in SP , But MP is a bit odd , Lots of running around and just shooting , for me the sp and mp is a lot different , BUT last night I played some hardcore server and man , that' awesome ... It's much harder , one burst and your history , caution MUST be applied , Also gun unlocks is absolute a MUST

I played last night. The graphics are good etc but the MP game doesn't match BF2. Yes the graphics are better but there is no voip and team work side to the game. I found it to be a big Rambo online experience. This clan exists because of the "Clan encouragement" in BF2. COD doesn't even have a place for our tags :(. I didnt find it to be a team work game.

Why do we still play BF2 ? There are lots of games out there with better graphics etc. Its the magic of the voip. The fun in the insulting TG / Blinky / fill you name in here.

dunno why ppl keep comparing this game to bf2, the styles are just so diff. COD4 is battling withing buildings from checkpoint to checkpoint. BF2 puts alot of emphasis on battlefield...

I forgot to add that I also got the CD key in use message. I uninstalled and then reinstalled. Then it worked. My Box was totally sealed in plastic AND cable tied. I bought it from Incredible Corruption. Now I just don't know whether someone actually has MY cd key and logged off in the time I reinstalled. Anyone else having these probs

CoD4 is a great game, the best thing I've got to play at the moment (Halo is sitting on the shelf) But it's not a Battlefield. for that it's just a few more months till bad company :D

VOIP is in COD4 AFAIK - you just get to speak to the WHOLE team.. Erm.. That would be 12 people instead of 6.. :shrug:

Okay second edition of my review. Vorty is right the is voip. It is the Z key. It is not being used much. I thnk there is also a distance issue. i.e you can only talk to someone within a certain radius.

There are also clan tags which you unlock at a certain stage. I am currently playing on the hardcore server. Now that I am used to it I am enjoying it a bit more. Lots of BF2 / 2142 blokes playing. Servers pretty full.

The actually server search sucks. You have to add all the ip's manually. Don't forget the Port number aswell.

Nice thing is you get to see how the guy kills you from the 'death cam'.. Very cool - a lot less thinking 'HAXX'! :D

Oh, and when you die you can follow anyone around and see what they're doing and stuff..

Blinks - it's not BF2 - totally different game, and you can't really put them in the same box together at all! This is more like UT in my opinion - fast paced action. Close to instant death at times, but if you manage to escape with minor damage you heal yourself up again :)

The Multiplayer graphics don't seem as mindblowingly awesome as the single player ones? Still a good alround game.

I'm still trying to understand the explosives and blowing up the objective, but it seems sorta like a capture the flag type of system, where the explosives have to be transported to an objective to destroy the objective. Once you get it there, you have to guard it until it safely explodes? :confused: The other team has the chance to then disable it if they can get past you of course..

Some game types have several rounds which last a few minutes and if you die during the round you have to sit around twiddling your fingers until the next round. Other game types seem to be normal respawn type things, but once it reaches instant death time, you can't respawn again until there's only 1 left standing..

I would like to see a better explanation however..

It's a little short, but the most fun 7hrs of gaming you'll ever experience. Alot of new angles to games. But EXTREMELY well done.

The MP grows on you.. I think clannies would be AWESOME fun..

The VOIP makes you feel a little 'spare' in normal play - you're not in your own little squad where you're speaking to friends, you're speaking to everyone on your team, so it makes you feel a little like a 'nana! :banana:

Many of the tossers on the servers I'd never invite to my squad, in fact I'd be willing to forcably eject 'em ;) but no such luck here.. You're stuck with the git who feels that he has to lecture you on tactics 'cause you TKed him.. :snipe:

One problem i had with COD MP was everytime i ran up to a cool new weapon that was lying on the floor, instead of picking up the rifle, i would grenade half my team :/

Once the games goes SUDDEN DEATH, i'm as careful as a brand new uninsured car owner.
I mapped the left and right lean to the mouse centre wheel left and right lean ... quite interesting .. trying to teach my middle finger to lean is really taxing though.
