check out Joost.com for free TV over your DSL connection. Works really well and quite a selection of shows. Works really well i must say...

I wonder if you can cache the stream so that saint and me don't double the bandwidth usage.

I did sawed that VLC has some wicked cool stream stuff in that Wizard feature of theirs.
But, that's nawt elegant, perhaps I should install some kind of PVR software that saint and I watch off of ...

Technically it's not free, since we're paying through the nose for bandwidth.

It does not work on a 384 line, don't even bother if that's your line specs.

i couldnt really tell how much bandwidth it was using cause it seemed to be running over UDP

Interesting. So, either you can keep up or you can't, their server simply broadcasts to yet another ip address and does not care if you get the data or not.
A lot like using an aerial then. :)

IPv2 is supposed to handle broadcasting much more elegantly.

hehe... luv'd the banter earlier in the thread... def got beeg shoulders (and a beeeg tummy) hehe :D

The Joost content wasn't premium stuff (ie. don't expect to be watching Stargate...yet) but the quality and smooth play was excellent (using a 1Mb line though)
