* We are continuing to prepare the game servers for the March 24 Factions Preview Event. To pre-stream all the latest Factions content to your hard drive in preparation for the event, you can simply leave your Guild Wars client running and sitting at the login screen

Nope ... stain's download is now on 630 plus mb's and still going strong.
Useless' is on 1.3 GB and still going on.

The update only Stoke, mine pulled at least 300mb over the weekend and then previously another 400mb......

I pulled down about 600MB before it stopped. Nothing more arrived in the past two days. I think the 1.3 GB useless mentioned was the size of his gw.dat file. My gw.dat is now 1.628 GB.

i was just referring to the current total size of the GW.DAT file... i suppose after a CD install of the game the file sits @ roughly 750-850 odd MB?

i think they should provide an option of UPDATE NOW or LATER....

Useless, when we played previously, was the lag caused by the continual updating of GW, or has the response just got better? I am seeing the occassional bit of lag when I am playing and GW is attempting to update itself.

@Fivel - i get occasional spikes when heavy action occurs, but the updates within GW tend to mostly happend when you enter a new area or at the login screen.

but in the past i think it was simply our latency which killed the game since with VPN it worked fine, thus with a VPN and doing updates it would have also given us grief.

Make sure you have registered with GW support before you have sent the mail, otherwise it will probably get dropped as spam.
