problem with crops

I'm a noob, and I've just started my village, so don't be appalled by these numbers.

The menu shows me that I'm only producing 4 crop per hour, but when I add upp my individual farms, it adds up to 20 crop per hour. is that a glitch, or is there more involved thatn that?

Well, there's at least one peep farming, and one peep mining and one peep in the house and ...
i.e. All these peeps eat your food.
If you check the 5th column on the buildings and farms and stuff, it shows how much food that thing is consuming per hour.

All the building you have consume crops. This is what counts as you village population. Your crops yield is:
total produced - village population - troop consumption = final yield add to stores

Aah, so i only store what's left after its consumed. They don't consume it after its been stored. makes sense... thanks guys |sharp|
