Im looking for a fire wand for my ranger/elementlist. I am currently level 19 and have some nice bows but would prefer to use magic.

SunnyCash

I am willing to pay for it

gus

OK, two fire wands coming up. I shall hand them over next time I see you on the servers. No need for payment.

Note, you might be better off starting an ele if you want to use ele skills. My ele has 90 energy, vs. 33 on my ranger, who has all +energy armor. And an ele has 4 energy regen, vs 3 on the ranger. Ele skills really suck energy, so without the energy pool to sustain them, you are going to struggle.

My 15 lev . has got health of 420 .. and enery of 60 If I remeber correctly ... specialize in Fire and Earth... this is very useful for close attacking guys and also groups ... but I wish I could change my second profession ... I've read ... E / Mesher is awesome together ...

To be honest, on my ele I practically never use the secondary profession, whatever it is. I also only use one primary attribute at a time, for example only fire or only air or only earth, together with energy storage, for maximum killing power.

After some way through the game, you will be able to change your secondary profession.

i did that once, i didn't know you could just copy the gw data file across after a new xp install :(

I was still playing GW on dialup back then... needless to say, there was much self-anger floating about.

This stupid game , I've done all the quests as far as I can tell (checked the Wiki)

But now the stupid gates keeps being closed , and the stupid guard says he can't let me pass :grrr: :ramheadagainstthetable: it's really annoying , I spent last night about 5 hours checking and rechecking every town (only wanted to play like 20 min) and didn't find any quests !!!!

if any of you big leaders and the I know alot in the game guys could help me out ... or just point me in the right direction it would be awesome !

When stuck in general, ask on guild chat if anybody is on, maybe somebody knows and can help.

Where is the gate located that you are stuck, since there are a number of gates in the game? We should be able to sort you out in no time.

I'm in Zen Daijun ... Finished everything else in the area

This was the last mission I've done as far as I can remember

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/To_Zen_Daijun
This is where I have to go I think .. but where the red dot's start on the top right corner ...those 2 gates are closed http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Image:Zen_Daijun_map.jpg

If you are in Zen Daijun, that means you are in the second mission area. You probably just have to click "Enter Mission" on your party window to progress.

Last night just before 2 am , I noticed that button the first time ....

Does that button appear a lot , or only at certain locations ?

Ps ... Thanks for all the help peeps :D

It only appears in mission start areas. Those towns have a different shaped icon from the others. Must say I did a full investigation before I remembered that you probably just forgot the button. My GW knowledge is very rusty.

that button should always be there

so long as you are leader of the party

lol 40 I am level 20 and still not off noob island, but that is just the way I enjoy playing. Kill kill kill then one mission.

3rd January 2008, 08:43 PM
u musta been on noob island for ages to get lvl 20 and not been able to leave it yet :gno:

gus

It is relatively easy to make level 20 on noob island in Factions. I think I made 19 there without lingering. The XP on noob island in Factions is pretty generous.

sorry i read too quickly... thought we talking about nightfalls noob island

Even in Nightfall it is quite prudent to level up a bit more before leaving Noob Island. The difficulty curve is quite steep in both Factions and Nightfall. In Prophecies I was Level 5 or 6 when I went through Searing, and that was ok, but in the later chapters the higher you are when leaving the island, the better.

Made level 18 last night, currently sitting in quarrel falls about to do the bloostone fen mission. So far I did all the missions alone with henchmen until I did my first one with another party last night...they where too rushed to bother about the bonus mission so I will have to go back and do that....but lol....those poor creatures didn't stand a chance.

Always good to check if the team intends to do the bonus before starting out, if you want the bonus.

I-8-all, dude ele/mes is said to be very good for the energy management, but if you doing close battles you're possibly going to need a lot of health. Your Necro skilzz can often steal you lots of health from the guys you're nuking. Look at skills like vampiric gaze/touch. There's also some stuff that can boost up your energy in there somewhere, so have a look at all the Necro skills available to you. Try Guild Wiki (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page).

40 - it's a good idea to make lvl 20 before leaving the n00b island anyways, things get tough on the mainland quite fast.

Sorry Tres. Maybe we should all get nightfall and play in that together?

Most good ele builds on the wiki are E/any, indicating as I also believe that for an ele, secondary profession is most of the time simply irrelevant. As an ele, I think you should simply ignore your secondary profession and specialize in one attribute (together with energy storage). You really want to get one attribute, say fire, up to level 16 and fight with that. That way you do maximum damage per energy expended.

Yes, mesmers have some nice energy management skills, but they are not really interesting in PvE, where you can simply stand still for a couple of seconds between fights to refill your energy pool. Those mesmer skills are only really interesting in PvP where one needs to maintain constant pressure.

I think the best secondary for an ele is monk, simply so that one can equip a reusable rez skill like: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Resurrection_Chant

hey hey, i been playing this here game non stop for quite some time,

I have to say thet you are right Rocketboy GW isn't cool, IT'S GREAT!! ^_^

Anyhoo you guys should pop in to the BUD GW channel the guys are very friendly
and would gladly round up a possy to help you'z out.

Just ask me in game for the ts psw gero allready has it.

AS for the Elementalist imo Fire magic owns everything, unless you play GWEN.
The best secondary for the ele is Mesmer because of the enegy management and damage reduction buffs, which make you able to spam a few more fire skillz.

Gus is Right aswell the only real time you would be bothered wiith your secondary as an ele is if you solo farm with it. Most of the time the build is 16 Fire, earth, water or air magic and the rest into energy storage.

P.S thank you for playing GW again, It is really awsome to chat to my guild mates in game again. I missed the wise cracks alot.

Hope to see you there more often
