They have been trailing it for the last few months, well at least if you can believe various forumites on various other forums like myadsl, prophecy, xbox-360.

Telkom Media does need a decise to deliver its TV services and it has been punting triple-play quite heavily, so why not use the 360 IPTV option. Also, Telkom are currently selling 360's. Ok, so it is only an arcade, but it is a start.

BT are about to launch a live service using the 360 IPTV platform accordign to Bill Gates during his CES2008 speech on Sunday.

I had a meeting at the end of last year with a Telkom guy. He was a "specialist" in the ADSL field for them. We got talking about the whole IPTV thing and technology in general.

I am not sure how privvy he is to Telkoms plans, but he mentioned that Telkom have just got a broadcasting license and they are planning on getting their Satellite TV service up and running by late this year/early 09. Once that is stable and working they will look at IPTV - he reckons not before 2010 though at best.

Again, not sure how clued up he is......time will tell - But i am not holding my breath!

I think that as they have obviously become a certified partner with MS in this innovation that MS should make them have the service when the other partners do...

I reckon IPTV is Telkom Media's ace up it's sleeve, they'd be silly not to roll it out as soon as possible. They've been trialling the product for over two years now. It'd also be a good tie in to launch local live!
