tsk tsk....windows 3.1 any noob would know they would have been using OS/2 Warp! ;)
At least they had internet...I remember back in '94 I was still connecting to BBS's with my 2400 modem. Life was so good when I upgraded to a 14 400 modem...now that was speed!

Yeah, there were, not in SA though (at least i can't recall cellphones in SA at the time)
i think my dad got his first brick in 1995, but i think motorola and siemens and nokia were the first companies to launch a cell phone. bulky ones at that.
but there's always been some sort of mobile phone available in the states - think about that first lethal weapon with Danny Glover carrying something around the size of a car battery with a phone attached to it - remember? that was early 80s!

Yoh ! how kief were those big ass grey fold up keypad cellphones with the big ass arial and ubersized battery that the okes always used to use in movies.
Almost as kief as those green screened pc's they had in the offices in the "lethal weapon" movies.
Sminty, i had a original unopened copy of OS/2 Warp4 until recently. It's wild! It was like linux meets windows 3.1

I remember the second season of friends when chandler got a new laptop
Quote:
Chandler: "Alright, check out this bad boy. 12 MB of RAM, 500 MB hard drive, built-in spread sheet capability, and a modem that transmits at over 28,000 BPS."
Phoebe: "Wow. What are you gonna use it for?"
Chandler: "Mostly games and stuff."
Shame... Back in 1994, that was really cool...
