What is close hotkey?
OOOH! a "Close the app by pressing it" hotkey - ok, i get it.
Let me tell you a little story;
Back in our n00b days on BF2, we had a young man called ICEMXRIDER who would join the squad every now and then. He eventually joined the clan and was a pleasure to have around, until he told us one day at a braai, that he HATES people who punish. So much so, that he broke his page up button out of his keyboard and threw it away, so that when the thing asks "Do you wish to punish?" his only option would be to press page down, to say "No, I do not wish to punish"
It was at this braai we told him that the thing asks - "do you wish to forgive?" IE, you've been punishing peeps for MONTHS now.
Do you see what i'm getting at? If all else fails, do the old cave man thing and stick some prestik under the button so it's difficult to press. (As they say, necessity is the mother of invention, even if it's not a bright idea, it'll work... )

what if the prestic makes it stick ???? then he can never keep anything open :)

MMMM...... won't try the prestik thing... there must be a more elegant way to sort this... I have the BTC 8190 URF (wireless) keyboard.
Got the drivers etc. can reassign a bunch of keys but no option to reassign the "close" (equiv to "Alt + F4" ) and "app" (equiv to "Alt + TAB") keys

That's cos it's probably hard wired to actually "press ALT+F4" ... your only hope is a pair of plyers.

Well your first problem has to be trying to play any sort of a game using a wireless keyboard. Okay, maybe you can play solitaire with a wireless.
You could try altering the key assignments in the game to avoid the key you keep hitting.
A diet may make your fingers less podgy :p
Or, you may be able to set different assignments if you have a profile option with your KB.
But I'd suggest spending a bit of money and buying a decent KB.

That keyboard is very fancy. But for gaming, I suspect even a cheap R50 keyboard might be better unfortunately.

Sorry - you are right. I think my tone was a little off there. I appreciate that wireless costs quite a bit but Mustek sell a very nice keyboard for R50. I wasn't suggesting dropping close to a G for a G15 - the paint wears off those.

Erm, i must admit, i didn't really think it through, or test my hypothesis...
Unfortunately, i'm a bit of a caveman when it comes to tech, i know it, i love it, but i'm not always sure how it works

Must say that the wireless k\board response doesn't hurt half as much as my own response. :D
It is though a cheap wireless option and truth be told the w\less optical mouse is starting to irritate me...will probably just buy a totally new one... with variable resolution settings on mouse for sniping .. mmmm..... the damn scroll button gets clicked every time I click the left button (so imagine running into someone on BF2 and instead of blowing their head off you click into "snipe" mode and back !!! aaaarrgghh .... and my favourite is throwing a grenade so that it basically drops at your feet !! (try thow a grenade then very quickly select "zoom\snipe" after pressing your fire key !! (absolutely madness... especially if your squaddies are lying next to you)
I'm also sick of the k\board killing my EA rugby game every time I try run the ball left or right down the line. aaaarggghhh

Go wired. It is not like one can play from another room or something.

nah... my laitjie grabs and runs... he'll probably bugger the mother board connection when he yanks on the keyboard...
Ta Stoke .... though i did not rip out the key with pliers you got me thinking... i opened the keyboard and checked out the switch (one of these two plastic sheets with space and carbon contacts that touch when pressed.... so I put selotape around the seperating plastic now the contacts cannot make connection ... problem gone... buttons are disabled and process is easily reversible !! (it's actually ... now that i think about it also not far off Blinky's idea)
ta guys !

I bought a R350 wireless keyboard and mouse.
I took it back 2 days later and swapped it for a copy of the witcher and some change :D
Wireless keyboards and quick response are NOT your friends.
but yar, i hope you get the problem sorted dude :(

Go wired. Get two keyboards and use the cable from one to tie your kid's feet together. Or just get the one and use that other friend of computer geeks and law enforcement officers - cable ties.
Got this picture in my mind of the doctor examining kid 'cos he can't sit. Finds QWERTY imprint on backside. :)

My children knew instinctively from birth that touching my PC could reduce their life expectancy severely. ;)

It's strange, i don't really mind about material things all that much, but what's classic is that my sister would phone me to find out if she may use my computer. She wouldn't be skelm about it.
But then again, i suppose that's after the whole "Do-not-read-jokes-and-drink-coffee-at-the-same-time" fiasco...
i had to throw that keyboard out...
