Punky3025
17th January 2008, 06:15 PM
In the light of recent posts the following has been decided :

1) Application threads have a specific purpose. Any member that derails these threads will receive a two day site ban and a warning. Three warnings and you are out.

2) Application threads are intended for information to be gathered about prospective clan members. The process is intended to identify and keep the asses out. Members making useless comments can join the ass club.

3) This is a management decision. I have decided and the rest of you will have manage.

Humbly yours

The magnificent fantastic marvelous...etc

Geezerz need excitement
If their lives dont provide them this they incite violence
Common sense, simple common sense

oh and pardon my under-educatedness ...

but what does " Discipliary Action " mean ?

I suspect it has something to do with spanking as applied by Punky, but I fortunately do not know for sure.

Ja, i don't think punky like thread derailment, i think he wants to keep the threads short... kinda like him...

And how did this end up as a comparison between PCs and consoles?

Oh, it didn't.

Like most of the rubbish I write there is a tiny message hidden away. Sometimes the message is just more hidden rubbish. I do however feel that App threads should stay on track. It encourages the clan guys to read them without getting lost. It also enables the applicant to respond to questions asked with out forgetting who he/she is and what clan they are applying to join before then end of the first page.

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 09:03 AM
However, and this happens at our pad as well, most applicants are often hesitant to read other threads and thus they mainly hang out in their invitation thread. As they don't always feel welcome elsewhere - you might think it's silly, but put yourself in the shoes of a joiner, they don't know the people or what's going on, they'd rather stick to something familiar, something with their name on it.
The derailment in that case then serves as the global icebreaker, everyone gets to tell stories and make the invitee feel welcome (if they are indeed welcome), and that other person would feel more at ease to post random things, because some people aren't as outgoing as rocketboy for example, and they need a little positive reinforcement.

If App threads don't get derailed, then 9 times out of ten they become brackish and stagnant. That is totally my opinion, and you may think i'm wrong for saying so, but you know, we all have our views, we all might make fun of them, but at least we're tolerant of them.

Ultimately, i think, play it by ear.

Punky3025
18th January 2008, 09:24 AM
I would hardly call the ramblings of a deranged WoW addict ice break, ground break or any other breaking. You may, however, have a point. If you did have a point, which I doubt, it would be need to be kept under control.

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 09:31 AM

I don't know whether i should be incredibly happy or incredibly sad that there's only one of you.
Much props punks! :D

Vortex
18th January 2008, 10:12 AM
What Blinky said.. About the socks.. Oh wait, that was me.

OK, what he said about the person feeling at home on his invite thread. I like it: A good reason for derailment! :woot:

Albereth
18th January 2008, 10:26 AM
Are you ordering socks with the clan logo on them?

Vortex
18th January 2008, 10:36 AM
No, because each person will want different sized socks in different colors from different manufacturers embroidered with different logos and different nicks embroidered in different places.

Perhaps it's 'cause we're different? :D

Albereth
18th January 2008, 10:54 AM
May I have my nick embroidered on the back of the left sock please?

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 11:01 AM
I'd like a pair of knee socks with my nick printed from top to bottom all the way down my shin. Man, imma gonna be the talk of the town!

Albereth
18th January 2008, 11:28 AM
Where do we deposit the money? And how much?

Thanks Vorty, you're the best

Noodle
18th January 2008, 11:41 AM

Voicy

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 12:04 PM
OOOOOOOOH! Toe Socks, even better!
I only have a pair of black an white stripy ones, so is it possible to get the black and lime stripy one? or black and red stripy ones, so i can look like the wicked witch of the west?

Voicy
18th January 2008, 12:17 PM
What about black and stripey limes? They must taste funky. I wonder if we can laser etch the WrG logo into them...

Btw, how far are you with watching SB ? Have you seen the " cant say jeaorb " one yet ?

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 12:24 PM
I constantly forget what this thread is about, then i realise it's a mockery towards thread derailment and i can sya pretty much anything.

senorblinky

Derailed - you okes cannot possibly stick to the subject & the day you start I'm going to have to look for somewhere else to get my laughs. I think it's a severe case of ADD...

What were we talking about, again? :bdog:

BTW - Blinks - what's happening with the UGL because I've got my ADSL @ last & I'm ready to become an upstanding member of the BUDs (when I've finshed with the club card)?

senorblinky
18th January 2008, 03:47 PM

Ok, the emboidery machine got borked by Eskom, so all sock orders will now be filled by my step-mom. She knits at a fairly fast pace, but only knows the pattern for bedsocks. She'll try work in the logo and nicks :D
