Awaiting key code authorization

This written in yellow on the screen that counts down while the server sorts itself out. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm patched to 1.4 not 1.5

Usually means that it cannot get hold of the auth server.
I was uzing a routesentry config, and when i had both me international and local connection running, then I would get what you're getting, but then I "switched off" the international connection, ran just on local only, and it worked fine.

Mine comes up everytime I load a game for the first time, doesn't have any negative effect though.

Oh... the next message is probably the important one. It says something about the server response and I don't get into the game. I'll try stoke's trick tonight. Wierd thing is it worked fine for a day or two O.o

Get the patch here, its an incremental on 1.4; 10 megs, thats all

Umm.. Since I've just gotten my PC copy - do I need to download from 1.1, or can I just grab 1.4 (69mb) and apply the 1.4-1.5 incremental?

Grab 1.4 and apply 1.5, will work fine.

Patched the COD and things were looking good, I could refresh the server list and see pings which I wasn't getting before... Alas I get past the count down page only to get told that my keycode is in use and i should try again later.

sigh, I think COd and me weren't meant to be.

Nope, I turned off the international connection as stokeh suggested. Perhaps if I also turn off the local connection it won't work.

mine tells me that aswell but normally when i just exited a game and tried to go into another one. so then I go out and go to a few website then try again and woola. Connecting isn't as easy as bf2 u have to try and try and try and be patient.
Sometime just trying another server u get in straight away

Yeah, I dont know drusk, I've also had that problem once before, but like Veer said, I tried back a few minutes later and all was fine.

Unlike the BF range (where it happened often) I have yet to have a server connection dropped with COD, thats a fresh change.

We have lift off, perseverance paid off. Don't let that stupid game tell you your keycode is in use! Try again... and agaim and again till you get in and play for a minute before being booted by Punkbuster. Here's the list:


Make sure you're patched all the way.
If you're running route sentry turn off your interrational connection.
Ignore the key code bull and try again, and again, and again.
When pb kicks you read the message which tells you which site to visit to update pb manually, follow the instructions on that site.
Weep sadly because you spent all your gaming time getting the COD to work.

Rofl, to upgrade PunkBuster, google for PBSetup.
I use it for Battlefield and COD punkbuster stuff.
It's handy cos then PunkBuster is up to date and does not upgrade itself while you're playing.
