Just wondering how many of you Guild Wars fans intend getting Factions when it is released.

And for those of you that don't know, there will be a preview even starting from this coming Friday through to Sunday. Your current login details will be required and no new registering will be needed. Only thing is the Factions data will be needed..... to get this simply go to the login screen and leave it right there (no need to login) and let it download overnight. The game should automatically update with the required Faction data. It should download more or less 600mb.

Mine's done, and I'm ready to rock..... would be interresting to see what this new Canthia world is like.

I am not getting Factions yet, as I still have a long way to go in GW. But I will definitely get it one day.

Cool. I'm preordering for myself and TotR as well. But the preview event will definitely be the deciding factor on this one.

So we going to get a little preview on Saturday morning? Or should we save the preview for the afternoon. Ag, regardless, we MUST just check it out as once it finishes on Sunday, there will be no more previews until the retail version goes live.

That is a bit scary. :D It is just a game remember, not a race.

Yeah agreed. Setting aside an hour or two to check out the preview ain't gonna set you back thaaaaat much dude! Besides, Factions only gets release in a months time, still a fair amount of time to get to the end..... which I really hope to do before I start playing Factions.

I think that is the standard collectors edition because BT seem to have the same product on offer. Their pre-order price is R385. Not sure of normal price though.

Oh and having played Guild Wars mainly for the gameplay and mission aspect, I'm hoping to take it easy with Factions. Really relax, and get into the whole storyline and ambience of the game.

@FX - will be in RB with parents-in-law... is that how you call them? :p

Just call'em in-laws... ;)

I will preorder Factions from BTGames. With luck I should have it one day after launch. Don't see much chance in getting it in a shop here... Although I found the original Guild Wars at Incredible Corruption the other day, but they only stocked it very recently. They never have stuff when I am looking for it...

I won't make it to Fourways anytime soon. Plus their shipping is very efficient and reliable. So ordering from them is generally fine with me. :)

I spoke to a level 8 warrior the other day, he was in the desert (I kid you not), and I asked him how he got so far in the game and is only level 8. He said he has almost exclusively used runners........

I mean runners are ok from time to time depending on the circumstances, but I ask you, what fun is it having other people running almost the entire game for you :( Pretty sad!!! The dude's missing out on all the fun and action.

For me, ascension is only a few moments away....... just need to complete the Thirsty River and *insert name of other mission* to get access to the test. So close, I can smell it!

I also cannot see the point of being ran all the way. What is then left of the game. Why bother to even log in then.

Edit: I did skip most of the jungle with my monk, because the guild I was in at that time needed another monk to be able to do FoW. I was about level 17 when I reached the desert, because I only took the one run. However, I did go back to the jungle after ascending and did all the missions.

What i sugested was power missioning NOT running, But, I have to disagree with you on the point that running kills the game. However I am not going to start a war of Running vs. Not.

Lets just say If you have played through the entire game once, well, Why would you like to do it for your other 5 characters. Personally. I did the whole game on a W/N and well it was not easy. I did get small runs to missions and stuff. cause lets face it, How many times do you really want to walk the desert and get killed to find the next mission ?

But having said that. I also agree that you need to play through the game at least once.

PS. If you need help with thirsty river my necro will be more than happy to help you complete that.

Me, You, Alesia, Stefan and my army of minnions :)

Easy as pie.
Let me know if you want my help.

Lol no dude, I was not implying anything about your post, my entire reply was a seperate comment and had nothing to do with your post or your offer ;)
So yeah, no need to start a war mkay :D

Thanks for the offer, but I can cast level 15 horrors, bone fiends, and another type as well (forget which ones)...... my current character is a lvl 20 Necro/Mesmer.

What's your ingame nick just in case we wanna invite you to play along with us?
