Well, i heard a lot about Sweeney Todd, before Tim Burton came to make the film, and i obviously was intrigued, i mean, a barber that kills people and then his landlord (rather, landlady) serves them up in little easy to manage meat pies.

I went to watch it last night and i felt like clapping for many scenes, Burton is a visionary. Stylistically and visually it is STUNNING! And Johnny Depp blew me away with his singing (still humming some of the demonic tunes today - "I will have vengeance!")

Admittedly, i knew what it was about (a murderous rampage where a barber seeks revenge for his illegal arrest and the stealing of his family, set in london, and oh yes, it's a musical) and i just wanted the killing to start. Once it did, it was FANTASTIC!

Todd is definitely one to see on the big screen, and is on my DVD collection list.

I, too, am looking forward to this. And I shall enjoy sharing a box of Whispers when I do.

Okay saw it and was very disappointed. The sound sucked and that ruined it for me.

Was it the cinema's fault, or was the film lacking?

Blinky; Alb's a little deaf, he can't hear you so speak up!

http://www.iqtest.com/ - there you go Hoss, make your bum take it and let us all know what the results are, you dumbass...

I was merely wondering if it was solely the cinema's fault?
Did you get a refund?
Where did you go and see it?

I'm fully aware of the point you were making about the cinema sound possibly being borked you Friday grumpy ass. I was merely poking fun at Alb, not you

The week ain't over smart ass!
(how many more ASS comments can we make?)

Mebbe if we were talking to Wonda, we could say (in a gangsta way) "Yoo, wit' Yō fine ass!" But that would be a direct inference to ass, instead of a personality trait?!

I'm going to watch the wind again, LameAss!

Cinema.

The movie was very well shot but some how they had the channel for the music too loud so you could hardly hear the lyrics.

I watched some of this last night .. I did not know it woz a musical, and when they started singing I was a lot surprised.
But .. it grips you and attaches itself to you and draws you in despite the not really good singing.

But ... the women that loves da butcher, I don't even know her name ... she fails to enunciate properly, and his daughter ... she sings at a pitch that actually hurts my ears.

I stopped it and watched something else instead cos of his high pitched daughter, but otherwise .. it seemed really beautiful.

Excellent - if a bit odd due to the crossing of two very disparate genres, that being the musical, and horror.

Musicor... Horrical.... Yes a Musicor Horrical of tremendous beauty.

I will skip this one. When does the next LOTR come out?

Sorry to hear it Alb, that sucks.
Ja Stoke, that's one thing they lie to you in the Trailer about, the fact that it's a musical... hehehehe.
I concure with the daughter as well. I liked the opening credit sequence, but as soon as that young sailor and the chica started singing in the street i was like
I just wanted the killing to start, and how fantastically gory it was! Especially when he kills that one bird where the blood looks like a curtain coming down, man :shudder: that was AWESOME!
