A movie for the kids and those older folk who like fantasy movies.
Some lovely CGI and a nice bit of an escape but at the end of the day not an awful lot new as far as the plot goes. I haven't read the books so can't really comment on how the movie relates.
The father/daughter reunion is too illogical for me.

I don't like the fact that it has the word "chronicles" in the title and it has nothing to do with the Narnia franchise. One might argue "Chronicles of Riddick" but that was WAAAAAY before the Narnia fiasco.
The should've put the word "Talisman" in the title. re-word the whole title so the word "Talisman" would fit. Ok, so i haven't seen this, i have no clue what it's about and i have absolutely no desire to find out, solely due to the fact that they have the word "chronicles" in the title. Yes, that does sound a little childish and stupid, but then again, so am I.

Now see, i'd watch that, still, the word chronicles still feels out of place, let's try
Senor Blinky's Series of Unfortunate Events from the Northern World of the Talisman of Narnia
Then it could be one REALLLY big talisman! And we can find out we all actually live on some giant near the end of the movie... or something. I dunno.
The Spiderwick Talisman FTW.

My son loved it. Agree with Alb though about the reunion.
The movie as a whole: "It's cute".
I thought young Freddie Highmore's American accent was a bit off though.
