Hey folks

two questions i need help with (from thos c+ and .net techno dudes :bow: ):

1. The past week I have been getting "lost connection" a lot more than ever before. I am with adsl Mweb on a 512k line - any advice?

2. Are there ever SF games and what happened to the SF server - is it just me or has it gone?

ZN, I had lots of lost connection last nite on Mweb 512k line..first time in a long time.

Tell the idiots at SAIX to stop unplugging the blerry switch to let their friends get into the server.

Had no problems -- mebbe an issue with MWeb (Get a decent ISP guys, really!!).

As for SF - yes, it does exist, however it was being used as a clan server last night.

Is MWEB ADSL not just basically resold SAIX? In which case it does not matter which ISP.

I see you are also in Cape Town. On Friday evening, me and two friends who were all playing BF2 together got dropped at the same time, from different places over the city. I had problems on Sunday as well. I guess the ADSL network here in CT is a bit flakky at the moment.

It depends - some ISPs use Telkom's IPConnect facility, so you're basically using their authentication and session management systems. This could be what's happening here, especially since they both experienced connection troubles.

Edit: Is the drawing to scale? That pipe you draw to the internet seems a bit wider than what it really is. :D

I drove 6 kms in a torrential downpour on a dirt track, with 4x4 on to get to the Kwambonambi Tea room, which was just about to close. I paid R7.50 for a 1litre coke and R6 for ice to keep it chilled. I may as well not have bothered with the ice as I downed it before it was warm. So altho I had to mission for it....it is available.:D

@tg nice diagram. The depicition of saix as a dark swirling cload is accurate. I dispute your depiction of the internet as the same. That should be depicted as a white cloud, mebbe small white figures with wings and harps, A pearly gate on the cloud as the pipe exits to saix (the pipe I agree is far too wide to be considered seriuusly) The pipe should prolly have a massive choke valve on it as it reaches saix.

Saint!!! :eek: No wunda! Jeepers dude its 1G of coke in every liter of coke... Not 1 KG. Somtimes life has a way of explaining itself... :D
