Saw this at the Il Grande at Monte. Awesome. Best Marvel movie todate. Special effects are brilliantly done and Robert Downey Jnr makes an excellent Tony Stark.
Jeff Bridges is pretty cool too - didn't realise just how big he is. Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts? Looks hot but you know she is a little dated. Stan Lee must have this thing for red heads.
And the bad guys are Afghani warlord types - nice little contemporary touch that without any need for religion to enter the plot.

Stay until after the credits have finished rolling - seems Nick Fury makes an appearance.

One little issue though: too much build up not enough action, but a minor issue. Ironman was excellent otherwise

Can anyone confirm this?? I thought about staying, but then didn't.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I honestly believe that the success of the superhero movies depends on how close they stick to the comic orginals. The more they stray away from the comics the less successful they are. I think it's because people go into a superhero movie with a predefined idea of what to expect, and if they see something different they are immediately "put off" to some extent.
This movie stayed close to the comics which was awesome! Robert Downey Jr was perfect to play Tony Stark.
I highly recommend this movie!!

Albereth does not lie. Joke around a little maybe, perhaps wake you up just so that he can laugh his ass off, but lie, nope.

Rizzy and I went to watch it Yesterday, when it was finished I said "should we stay to see if there's anything after the credit". He said "Naaa doubt there will be anything". So we left :banghead:
But none the less a very, very cool flick, just wish I hadn't seen the trailer first. :D

:o
How cool was that movie? Robert Downing Jr has really upped his acting ever since Kiss Kiss bang bang came out. He was very good for the role and Gweneth fitted in nicely too.
I was _REALLY_ surprised with Jeff Bridges. They made him look really cool with the bald head and big chin. Almost didn't recognize him.
ooooooooooh - and I was the only guy to stay RIGHT to the end after all the credits and I got to see Nick Fury (Samuel L.) ... and that 10second clip secured a sequel to this movie!

Damn, I just want his suit... and I really don't mind the low tech version with no electronics. It would just come in handy for protecting my squishy bod when I'm on my motorcycle!
