So for the last two days I have been offline and just popping into the forums briefly at night to see what's potting, reason ask.....
Simple, I was in a first aid course. Wrote me test today and got 94% for it. Also flew through the CPR dummy effort, the Practical was a tad more difficult though but I got through it :D
I must say I am very disappointed in myself though, although my mark is not bad I could have done a lot better if I had just read a bit more carefully... I was soo close to 98%, but a little bit of stupid reading on my part dropped that :(
But yeah, next Braai, if anyone needs CPR, I can help :psycho:

WOW Noodlie, thats awesome!! Congrats on a great pass mark!! I am going to be starting one in the next few months because obviously with becoming a "pre-school" teacher... First Aid is high on your list of needs! :)
Did they give you that key ring that is that "mouth" piece for if you need to do CPR on a peep on the side of the road? Its quite cool... I practise on random peeps in the bank queue all the time :D

Jis, i also did one, but like 9 years ago, the ONLY thing i can remember is CPR, one finger, two fingers, one finger, place palm flat, ensure airway is clear, tilt head back wards, blow.

Awesome Noodle :sharp:
Well done, and great marks.
Don't forget that now you know how to save lives you must never put this knowledge into practise. The bugger you try to help will probably sue you for indecent harrassment or abuse
But seriously, that's that's really excellent! I am very proud of you. And that reminds me that I need a refresher course, these thing expire every three years or so.

Wow blinks 9 years ago... Much has changed since then, app CPR is not done the same way as the old. Instead of a ratio of 15/2 it's now 30/2 (pumps/breaths) Also to get the right spot just draw a line between the nipples where it crosses with the breast bone, bam there be yur spot.
I'll show you at the next braai if you want :deadhorse:
@Oodle. Why?
Well me comp[any was sending 3 peeps, I was one of the lucky ones chosen.
Besides the amount of stupid people I know, tis always good to know. :D

Actually they do train you to ask for consent first, that we we cover our own buts :p
Yeah refreshers are always good ;)
Defiantly something more peeps should know.

last time I did this course the medic told us about this "responsibility clause" if you can call it that.
Basically it goes like this. If you see a person in need of cpr and you make the decision to administer cpr then you may not stop applying cpr until a medical professional such as a paramedic or doctor stops you or you could be held liable for the persons death (naturally you can stop on your own tho if you revived the person) . i.e. you have no rights to determine if the person died during your cpr giving attempts (unless you are some sort of medical professional youself).
some nutty rule like that.. does it still apply nowadays?

yeah just sounds like one of those rules that are there for the ethics but at the same time cant really be implemented in reality.
one can easily just claim one was too emotionally distraught to continue. one can claim a ton of stuff and I doubt someone else would have any footing to find you liable.

Yup pretty much you can't stop till someone else either takes over, or a docotr/medic tells you to stop. Only other reasons you stop is if your life is in danger. You get tired, take a 1/2 min break then carry on. The brain can survive for 4 min with no air.
But if you do stop they will do the whole reasonable man story.
Well done! Now I know who I'm gonna call!
