I have a deaf friend who is looking for a watch company that distributes Vibrating watches.
The purpose of the watch is to use it as an alarm to wake in the morning because using the cellphone is not a preferred solution anymore (askari not a bleemin word:rolleyes:).
If you people know of anyone please pm me or post in this thread. At the moment the only angle I can work on in south africa is to query my moms social worker contacts but thought I'd give the wargeeks a bash;).
Thanks :)

Well... the DEAF part of the clan name could've been an acronym...
Deadly Efficient Assault Friends... or Dastardly Effing Asskicking Fiends... or.. etc
Plus not all of them are deaf, and not all of them are completely deaf... but still...don't jump to conclusions :D

next query is bluetooth devices. i'm looking for a device that takes in an audio stereo signal and transmits it via the bluetooth audio prorocol to any supporting devices (paired up) like bluetooth speakers or headsets.

You want to turn FM/AM into sound, and then digitize it and re-broadcast it via bluetooth?
Erm.
Why would you need the extra security overhead of bluetooth for that?
Surely you can just transmit the signal to a fm receiver like they do with the IPod transmitters you plug into car lighters, instead of complicating things with blueteeth.
Edit : Well, one such device is a computer with an FM card in it, and a USB Blueteeth dongle.
Side:
I have seen Wi-Fi 2.4GHz speaker sets at them really expensive hi-fi shops, the speakers are self-powered and the only cable is the power cable. The salesman told me that 2.4GHz is plenty enough frequency for high fidelity, but I don't agree.

Hard of hearing peeps have hardware in their ears that allow for certain types of audio input. Google "Icom". This is a bluetooth device that connects to the hearing aid and feeds audio such as a cellphone. If i can find this bluetooth option for generic deivces with a 3.5mm input plug then my friend can just as easily wire it into the ipod or even tv to hear those sources.
jabra makes the a120s if its still not clear what I'm getting at. Just wondering if there are any other products on the market

Stool there is a bluetooth cell phone protocol for delivering audio signals (and navigation controls) through bluetooth headsets. I forget the name now. But basically lets your bluetooth headsets work as a MP3 player. Most new stereo bluetooth headsets support it now.

yeah but you talking about the receiving end
i want the hardware to transmit to those devices. input = stanadard stereo audio jack and output = bluetooth stereo protocol

Well if it is already a predefined protocol, then you got it all spec out for your transmitter.
