I really hate gamesavers!!!

I worked my bum off recently to catch and get past the "gamer" in front of me on the leaderboards.

By playing all sorts of rubbish games, i managed to do it. I was 400 gs ahead of him. Within 1 day was 900 behind.....the next day I was 1400 behind!!!

He went out and acquired 7 new games....and managed to get impressive score in most of them.

I few of us (myself, Ruslan, Spawnninja and Ra1nking) caught him gamesaving previously - but he was spoken to by Ra1nking (SA number 1) and he corrected his ways...until now. He has however gotten a little bit more clever....he gamesaves offline now so that you cant see the date and time the achiev was unlocked.

It makes me so mad!!! I know that Gamerscore is worthless, and is nothing more than bragging rights - but it's a lot of fun to acquire and there is some healthy competition between a few of us. Then someone does something like this.....eish.

Spawnninja is also battling with someone on the leaderboards...as soon as Spawn gets ahead this oke miraculously overtakes him!

Let's hope MS catch them and reset their Gamerscore!!

The one I deal with has been bust before on a US site - xbox cheater watch. He got 1000/1000 for VF5 in 1 minute.

This guy "beat" me to being the first in SA for 1000/1000 in Orange Box. However I am the first legit person in SA with 100% for OB.

I tend to check his progress often and from doing do I learnt that he gamesaved all the Portal achieves in 1 night. Portal took me about 3 nights for 90% of the achieves and then about another week of concentrating on the Aperture Science achieve which was a bitch of note!

He then miraculously Hardcore (1000 kills), With Friends Like These, Team Doctor (25000 heal points) and Flamethrower (set 5 enemies on fire in 30 seconds), all 4 of these achieves in 1 minute. Now... all of these unlocks in real time... as soon as you get them, except for With Friends Like These which unlocks at the end of the level

Its sad that such folks are on the leaderboards. I think the gamesaver that Jupman is trying to catch has his profile being used by somebody else, still its unfair and blatant cheating.

I think you guys need a spur of 5k plus to make a determined effort to leave those gamesavers in the dust. You can do it!

Gamesaving? Sorry, i also have a 360 and play some kakkie games on there (HEY! I like them!) but i have no idea what you mean by this - how is he boosting his score?

It just really demorilises you when you work so hard to achieve something only for someone to cheat their way past you.

I really dont care if he got passed me legitimately - well done to him then. I was actually ahead of Ruslan once.....many moons ago....for about 5 days.

Now i am over 10k behind.....but he did it legitimately.

I also think that what makes this worse is that my "gamesaver" is actually someone who is held in High regard in the Xbox community - he has done a lot of good work for the community. That is the the only reason i have decided not to name and shame him yet.

Definition of Gamesaving : Basically you go to a site online and you pay for a savegame of the game you are wnating to cheat in. You then download the save file - let's say it's a save at the end of the game - edit the file, putting in your gamertag and copy it from your PC onto your console using a Data Transfer cable. When you load the game again it recognises that you have finished the game and all the achievements pop at the same time.

There are different saves you can purchase...i.e MP saves, SP saves etc etc etc.

Gamesaving on consoles is basically stat padding and using haxx in BF2.

He is playing the game....and well done to him for finding a quick way. At least he isn't paying for someone elses save game or not even bothering to play the game.

I see a big difference between what Spawn did and what a Gamesaver does.

I have been reluctant to name and shame Gamesavers up to now.

The big gamesavers doing there thing at the moment are :

Head Hancho 10k
Minem

Minem really disapoints me, he has done so much for the Xbox community in this country. I dont want anyone to say that i am naming him beacause his score is higher than mine - it's not that. It's the fact that when i get close to his score he gamesaves some games and gets 1500 gs ahead. Ra1nking, Spawnninja, Ruslan and I noticed his gamesaving a while ago and spoke to him about it. He stopped for a long time. He has started up again.

I am sick and tired of these cheaters. Name and shame.

Yeah he does. It seems he wants to keep himself on the leaderboard regardless of the cost.

@Jupman - Hangon, you need to get a +3k plus lead and he might find it hard to keep up.

Pfffft. In BF2 that's called statpadding, and we've been struggling with it since the game came out. Somehow I am glad that the drawbacks of the PC are catching up with the consoles.

There is stat padding in consoles as well (see the BF:BC guys who got reset).
Game saving is different to stat padding.

Stat pad - get a buddy to stand still and just pop him with your pistol to get your unlocks and medals etc... Some work needed

Game save - D/L saved game change drop on mem card, rent game pop in, unlock all achievements, take game out carry on. no work very sad :(

Somehow I am glad that the drawbacks of the PC are catching up with the consoles.

Its all up to the players sadly. In contrast, there are lots of drawbacks the console will never catch up with the PC... ever. :p

Just an update....

Seems like Head Hancho 10k has had his gamertag reset to 0 ! I checked up the other day and noticed that his GS was sitting on 210 ! Under his Bio he mentioned that he was "retiring" and "stepping out of the limelight" - but as far as i know the only way you can get your score to start from 0 again is to start a new gamertag or if MS reset it beacause of cheating.

One day...plenty more to go unfortunately.
