Definitely a SF through & through. Just saw it last night - not too bad, very good special effects, the ladies might find it a tad gruesome, although it's not too much so.

I watched this movie not knowing anything about the series that it's based on - Firefly - so I did not know what to expect.
Long story short - I loved this movie. I have the entire series of Firefly on its way to me from the UK. :p

I also did not know or expect anything, so found it surprisingly good. I did not even know it was linked to Firefly. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, I was standing in the video shop and did not know what to take, so grabbed that on impulse without knowing what it was like at all. Glad I did.

Best piece of movie I have seen in a while. I loved the series Firefly and was excited that they would bring out a feature-length movie. Bought it blind from Amazon US (their version just looks so much nicer than the one you get here...) It is darker than the series, a bit more action-packed, but with the same humour, and while answering a lot of open questions from the series, it leaves room for a possible continuation.

I was very sad when they canned Firefly, especially as I had missed a number of episodes and never caught up. The movie was great. It's a rich universe and I hope they go back to it some time. Like Crusade . . .
My DVDs should be arriving any day now.
