I have a few that I 've seen that really are freaky !! What are yours ?

In first on my list is "The Grudge" ... awesome camera work, acting and story line add to a really freaky movie. It's originally a Japanese movie that's been redone in English... One to watch late at night by yourself.

Next on my list has got to be "The Ring".... she just keeps going !! The part where she climbs out the TV rates as an all time "freak out"

Hmmm, I am not big on horror movies, seem to lack the nerve for it. 'The Grudge' left me begrudged. I didn't like it at all. My wife, who likes horror movies more than me, said it didn't make any sense to her.

I don't think I actually own any horror movies - no, wait: dies Jaws count as one? No? Hmm, didn't think so :p I am more of a suspense guy. I love things like 'The Butterfly Effect' or 'The Village' (non-representative selection), which creep you out without shock effect. 'Wrong Turn' might be as close to horror as recent movies I watched get, and I really liked that one. MAybe I just prefer the 'bad' slayer over the 'good' slayer* ;)

*) Eliza Dushku on 'Wrong Turn' as opposed to Sarah Michelle Gellar in 'The Grudge'

That the grudge was AWESOME .... man I loved that .. seen it twice and it gave me hideous goosebumps every time.
The boogeyman 2 was also quite a hair-raiser and i dare say was better than the first one.

Heh, the one horror that had me going for years (I saw it at a very impressionable age) was American Werewolf in London.

I recently got the DVD - great humour, and not a bad movie at all for its time.

I haven't recently watched a movie that has truely scared me.

I watched Bermuda Triangle as a kid. It scared the living **** outta me because....the baddie (the Devil in this case) does'nt die he smiles a sinister smile and slips beneath the waves ready to strike again one day.
Because of this one film I a)Dont watch horror movies b) Dont swim in the sea
No jokes. Do you see any smilies here?... right

Think I also saw bits of that, but fortunately it didn't ever affect my love of the sea, but also REALLY didn't enjoy the bits I did see !

just too put things into context, i totally agreeded with SAW and SAW II ...

and the only thing i find cool about horror movies, is the shocks you get from the Reeeeally unexpected, the run of the mill ones, well i duuno, i just see them as films; it needs to be relatable to myself to scare me.

but as far as 'good' goes, 'The Grudge' was awesome :p <ESP coz i was sitting behind a mate, that gets scared SHITLESS in any horror(like im talking curl up into a ball, and wet yourself scared) ... any way in the grudge i was sitting behind him , and as the movie ended, he lent over and made that growling noise effort,.. never in my life have i seen some one jump that high, that fast . out of a movie seat ;))

Has anyone seen "The Hostel" yet? Is it good?

The ONLY horror movie that I literally almost fainted in was HANNIBAL. I was so living myself in to that movie, it felt like I was sitting there at the dinner table in the end when Hannibal was serving brains for dinner. That is when I almost fainted and walked out of the cinema.....

I can't for the life of me remember the name of this movie, and I've searched all over, but I can't find it.

A guy and his girlfriend/wife are travelling from one point to another. They drive through some desert in America where nuclear testing had taken place some years before. While driving, they accidentally drive over thousands of snakes that were basking in the middle of the road.

A short while later, they end up with a puncture or some such - anyway, it causes them to stop for a few minutes. Unbeknownst to them, a snake ends up in the car with them.

Long story short, the guy gets bitten on the hand. His hand starts developing a mind of its own, and X-Rays show that his hand is changing into a snake head.

Eventually, the guy himself mutates into a big ass ugly snake.

Anyway, since I have a mild snake phobia, I found this movie to be absolutely terrifying. Just wish I could remember the name.
