G15 Keyboard

Purely for research purposes:

I just wonder how many people have set up little routines using the keyboard macros? And what would the most useful ones be? Dive, draw knife, stab stab, switch to gunz, stand for example.

List your favourites. I have 3x18 keys to go. And I'll try and give you a field report on the comparative merits of each. Good, honest research. Test subjects may include any FiB, Asault or pang-mullet, or snake182 smacktards.

Someone said I could make macros with my Z-Board, but I haven't found a way to do so .. please help anyone ... ???

So I set up your typical dive, draw knife, stab stab, stand get gun macro. Doesn't seem to want to work. Do I need to put delays in or what?

Try: Dive -> Move Left for 2 seconds Move right for 2 seconds.
That should work fine. The game disallows other types of commands straight after the first command.

the only keyboard at home doesnt let me push "D+ SPACE at the same time.. no good for dog fights!

and the other beeps when u hold "A" down for too long!

One my friends has one of these yet he doesn't use the LCD screen and doesn't want to program those 18 "G" keys. It's almost like such a waste of money if he doesn't use the extra features. (Apparently he hasn't got round to installing the drivers yet [just like Razorback Plasma LE]

However the the keyboard looks really cool when it's in the dark.

Hey - no pretense was made whatsoever about their legitimacy in a game. In fact, it all started out as a little research project. To actually take that notion to it logical conclusion, even the mice could be lag devices.

As far as the keyboard goes having 3 x 18 sets of buttons is really unwieldly to try and operate. I am just getting used to and enjoying the freedom of having voice activation on my mike.

As I was explaining to Nerdboy, I have been known to press the B button when talking to someone on my cell while playing BF2. I am sure Bass has heard some weird stuff being spoken by me.

Lets see ... V = Speak to commander, B = Speak to squaddies, N = Change zoom factor on mini map ... result:
Stoke presses N to tell the teamies to look behind them, which changes the zoom and then stoke starts pressing B repeatedly while swearing to get the zoom back to where it was and then presses V to re-tell the squaddies to look behind them.

Result is 4 pissed off squaddies cos they were sworn at and a commander that is asking me what i'm smoking and a loss of direction cos the mini map is buggered.

Fun fun fin grrrr !

I can just imagine it. Actually - I've done similar things. Yell at your squad then realise you were pressing V the whole time. *sigh*

Voice activation really works well for me ... one does hear strange things from Albereth's side, but I thought that was normal from him ;)

I have one of these g15 thingies, but no eye deer as to how to use it, all I see is the logitech logo the whole time....mebbe I shud take some time to feex it...

ok... i can get this KB at R575-70

spose i will... slappy has one and i cannot remember having any issues with it when playing bf2

Basically it is just a keyboard as far as BF2 goes. Sure, you get 18 new keys and some backlighting and a screen that reminds you of the time. But it does nothing for BF2. For that you need to finds some mods, create your own, or start programming key strokes.

BTW - have you upgraded the software? The latest version has mouse click support.

as long as i can push "UP" and "W" and "D" and "SPACE" and "B" at the same time without the buffer goin WTF then i'm happy!
