So myself and many other people have had this issue of Cell c still taking money from my account each month even though my contract has expired.

Fine, looks like bad service on Cell C's side.

Anyway, after fighting with them they once again have put more money back into my account than they took, and when I say more I mean took out R R123.50 then deposited back R247.02. Which obviously works in my favour. Only once have they put the correct amount back into my account.

Now I wonder if someone in cell c is doing these refunds on multiple accounts they have and are making thousands from Cell C.

Who have you spoken to for the refund?
They have taken 6 months worth of debits form me and im getting seriously pissd off now. I have phoned them a few times and emailed them. I have complained on hellopeter and they have replied to that saying they are sorting it out. Its a pain in the bum because they take R320 a month.

Yes and no, the banks are not very helpfull here.

The bank will not stop a debit order from cell c.
The bank will stop a debit order for a specified amount, eg R200, they will block it for 3 months.

cell c will try debit for R200 and fail, then try next month for R400 and succeed cause the bank only blocked a R200 amount.

If cell c fail at getting your money for a few months instead of investigating whats potting they report you to the ITC and then even though you have done nothing wrong you have an even worse problem now.

you cant block it, only reverse it when its been done and that must be within 5 days. i seldom have time to actually go to a bank and do that :(

i hate having to call them, you hold forever. I moaned at the guys on hellopeter because Cellc said it would be sorted but they have done nothing.Seems Hellopeter is a bit useless too.

LOL - For some reason I read that as 'hellocopter'.

Sigh. It's one of those days.

HelloPeter can help depending on the responsiveness of the company involved. I know MTN has a team of people dedicated to satiate the needs of those complaining on HelloPeter, and last year they were voted #1 in customer service in Ask Afrika's orange index report.

well what i mean is hellopeter can't really help as they have no power to actually do anything but inform the company of the complaint and to let them respond.

Fair observation, HelloPeter is just the platform.

Yeah for sure, they are pretty much just a go between to get to more or less the right people.
They dont seem to be passing on much in terms of response this time though.
so far smellC owe me R2k. This is getting silly now, its time to make some angry sounds.

Angry, cellc.

Those 2 words seem to go together far too well.

I feel your pain. They have got to be one of the worst bunches of morons to deal with.

Perhaps we should arrange a meet and beat at their offices here in Rivonia. I have 2 pikstelle to bring to the party.

i read that companies who want to respond on HelloPeter have to pay a monthly subscription - How wrong is that? That's how peter Cheales makes his money, so i mean, how fair is that representation then?

Yip, its true and he makes tons off money off it. But he hardly ever gets involved in the dispute, just some politeness editing

But how on earth can that be construed as fair, if the consumer doesn't know that these companies are paying for the subscription? i mean, for bigger companies, sure, pay it, don't be stingy, but ultimately the consumer just thinks that those companies couldn't give a toss since they're not responding. That's just not on, i don't agree with that.

And then some companies, like primi, pay that subscription, only to give customers more crap... can you believe it?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I think alot of the smaller companies that don't respond have it lucky, this is south africa, everyone complains and nobody listens, the smaller compaines can ignore the hellopeter stuff and nobody will blink an eye.
