Some screenies here (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/704/704098p1.html) plus info :
This Spring, the American Heartland is the new battlefield! The Battlefield 2: Armored Fury booster pack for Battlefield 2 brings all-out mechanized battles to U.S. soil for the first time.
Battlefield 2: Armored Fury drops players into a deadly confrontation between the Middle Eastern Coalition, Chinese, and U.S. forces following an attempted invasion of America.
Three epic new maps set in the USA provide the setting for huge armored warfare. The conflict spreads near the Pacific Ocean in a battle for the Alaskan port of Valdez in Operation Midnight Sun, where Chinese forces are attempting to secure much-needed fuel from the pipeline. Meanwhile, tensions will escalate in Operation Harvest as the MEC army begins their march East towards the U.S. Capital. Can American forces stall the advance long enough for reinforcements to arrive? Finally, Operation Road Rage has MEC forces infiltrating deep into the USA, using the highways to move quickly towards key industrial sites that are dangerously near civilian areas.
Tactical air offensives and effective recon are the keys to winning this historic conflict. To contain and eliminate the domestic threat, Players will need every ounce of muscle from their tank busting ground assault aircraft, and the finesse of the radar-equipped scouting choppers.
So when do we get to defend the White House from the MEC? :p

Mmm.
Another EF type booster pack. It will be as much of a hit as EF probably. I'm keeping my 64 Raandt again. Sorry.

I ain't going to waste MORE dough on a dud extension! After SF AND EF...? Nah! Besides, do I REALLY need to witness more armour-whoring? More importantly, GRAW is out soon!!   :woohoo

If you buy it directly from EA, 64 Raandt, i.e. R64.00 - you then need to do a +/- 350Mb download.
:D
Worth it right ????

Bass did u enjoy EF? Have they got that map back in that they withdrew? How much hassle was it to get the update?
What map did they withdraw?
All 3 maps were in cycle.

Hey Darnit ! - update was painless for me, and the maps are really enjoyable. It's actually quite lekker having a few new vehicles to play with !
I don't know of a withdrawn map ....
Let the other guys say how they found it too ... :D
I enjoy playing EF more than vanilla BF2 - somehow I get golds reasonably often while playing ... (amazingly enough) ..
Edit: Probably due to Albereth industriously repairing anything I got into ... Thanks Albereth !!!!! :D

Well you do tend to bend them a little. And goodness knows how you get all those scorch marks.

Armoured fury presents more value to me, as it's a different kind of play. EF and SF were just more of the same old BF2 with different weapon skins and maps.
Besides, I'm looking forward to handing it to the yanks on there own soil :D

I saw an A10 warthog and the little Huey Defender. Mmmm Depleted Uranium. Also liked the look of the dual highways.

Sounds like fun. Will see. Dont keep your hopes up for GRAW, i downloaded the demo, its crap. No large multipleyer types. And you need a new graphiocs card. If you have a 7800 gtx, no prob. Anything less, it kills it. I found the actual game play to be absolutely crap.

Agree about GRAW WAJ ... I haven't gotten into the gameplay at all .... :(

Yeah, I didn't like the GRAW demo either. Although it ran reasonably well on my system, but the gameplay is just not my cup of tea.
About AF... I will wait and see how the community accepts it before I get it. I have the vague fear that it will split up the players even more than EF did...

i am kinda into GRAW perhaps coz i played the original GR of a while back ( not the console editions btw ) and it brings back good memories. Peformance wise its a hog but since it only has HDR to push your GFX card with most 6600's and above should do well.
dont push texture quality above medium as that requires a 512MB GFX card.
as for AF, i aint spending another penny into EA's BF2 moneypit coz honestly, these packs should be FREE for all the people who play BF2 with the dedication you guys do.
if the UT developers can offer free add-ons and maps to current UT players why cant EA do the same?

useless the GRAW now has shaders in it aswell. Tried to turn it off to get better performance, nada, didnt want to. Had a bit of lad with a 6600. Maybe a 6600 GT with 256m memory will do better. Will propadly end up buying the game to check it tou. Demo's can be very misleading.

I struggled with the gameplay at first. (altho I got out the chopper :p quite quickly) I'll buy into it BUT what I'm really waiting for is Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. Yummy :)

yeah, Quake Wars looks like a definite BF2 challenger for online action...
@Wajkiller - i think the medium gfx settings do require at least 256MB on the gfx card.
