Admittedly, 2.5 hrs is much quicker than it took Da Vinci...



On a side note - why is the Mona Lisa so popular, especially compared to other paintings of the era?
Is it because it took Da Vinci four years to paint it?
Is it because Da Vinci was a master of more than 50 different sciences?
Is it because no one will ever know what she is smiling about?


I mean, seriously?! i'm not saying it's a bad work of art, i'm just not sure why it deserves more hype?!

I think it's highly over-rated and overpriced. The Playboy centerfold has a nicer smile, is available on every street corner and is a fraction of the price. Of course, the articles are awesome too.

MY wife recons that hands are the harderst thing to paint. weird by my reconing because i would think faces are harder.
gustav Klimpt was pretty good with those and Lucienne Freud was a machine. Chuck close does some very cool stuff like that with funny blotchy bits that add up to the awesomeness.
